Thanks :D

@Apex, sure I wouldn't mind doing it for other diodes.

@Atomic, data only goes to 270mA because I wasn't sure how to make note of the wavelength data past that point.
I did datalog the 50mW run, didn't bother posting it since it's the typical diode curve seen in every other diode laser :p

I'll be grabbing some beam shots this weekend, when I can mooch a DSLR :)

I'd like to see the datalogged run :p

Do you think it is actually usable on a handheld @300mA with a decent (>=60s) duty cycle?

ignore the bumps, I wasn't careful not to create air currents while it ran. ;)

280mA would be best for whoever gets this, can get both lines clearly, and will be better for diode life.

Holy shit!

I'd rep you, but the forum thinks I'm doing it too much.

How visible is the beam without fog? try it outside if you can..

Beam is most definitely visible without fog :)

Would take a picture but all the cameras that I can borrow or use currently are poor at taking beamshots.

Nikon D5000 takes amazing shots (all of my good beamshots are taken with one)
I've got a friend who has a D3100, should work for this ;)

ARG, for the data on the wavelength you could just put the two wavelengths instead of one just like you would do with a multiline argon can't you? Adding in the exact wavelengths of the two lines in the data would IMO be good for record purposes.

You should keep it till you get around to doing the beamshots :)

I agree with Apex, that would be cool!

Pssshhh you settle down XD

These diodes are insane lol. Two lines from a freaking diode? *mind blown*

Alright :)

Might not be true for all of these diodes, no two diodes are the same :p
Would love to test another one if we could.

Hmm, you have a point there. If only these became more widely produced...

If they become widely produced it's likely this "bug" would be nonexistent... though regardless, I wish 475nm diodes were mass-produced. a high WL diode around 480nm is ALL I want...

Perhaps, who knows. It may be an unavoidable side effect of the GFP (or whatever they are) used in creating the diode.

One of the lines in this diode is 480nm at any rate :D

hence I'm jumping around in my seat hoping your latest post is the drawing for the diode :)

Ahhh of all the times not to have enough money to just buy one off styro-- freaking college :(

I know those feels, school isn't cheap :(

List will likely be finalized tomorrow evening and posted, after all the shots/reading are done and the diode is packed up. Then I'll get Dave to draw us a number :p
