yeah it's from early 90's SONY CCD-Video8, that was found in the trash and is being dismantled.
Lot's of motors, lenses, buttons, wire....

Probably another hint I will give is that this item is an older version of something common and modern.

It is a selenium rectifier... and emits a putrid oddor that smells like rotten eggs when they fail.
