Game: Guess the mystery object !

Hak: Are they the wings of some flying insect?

TheDukeAnumber: I want to think it's some kind of intercooler heat exchanger, but I can't figure out why it's made like that. Maybe it's one of those instant water heaters?

Looks like something from a plant or marine wildlife.

^^^ James is zeroing in-- this one word 'clue' should help

'Cricky!!'

( sorry it this is one of those 'Too Soon' things

BAZINGA!!

DZ!! (he lives near the Gulf Of Mexico so....)

This was a big one- very much alive and caught in a shrimp trawl net--
at least 250 pounds- close to 7 fts across abd 5 feet long not counting its tail.
capt. shot it a few times thru the head so we could get it out of our net safely- something we wish we had not been forced to do.

These have been used for spear fishing by primitive and even current cultures.

This was what killed Steve Irwin-- very sad event--

Giant sting ray 'stinger' caught in Gulf Of Mexico --~1979

The pic I posted is a piece of the stator winding to a generator in a coal burning power plant, I forget how many MW the unit was. I thought I had a good pic of it all together but I cannot find it.

@ hakzaw1

Looks like an antler.

Ahh damn my first guess was so close. I would have expected it to be a little more round,
though.

DJZ: It looks like a holder for something, possibly optical.

Not optical
the top edge looks sharp enough to do some kind of cutting or shaving something-

I bet he choose this side to show us for a reason--

i got no clue

Some kind of lathe tool? It looks like its def built for cutting anyway

Interesting guesses! Lightning Stalker is closest so far, it is optical in nature. If I show a pic of the other side some folks might know right away what it is.
