FS: White Fusion Laser Mixing Kit

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

are you selling these with the turning mirrorsmirrors pre-set now Sight?

or is that not possible due to variables in the 3 diodes? ecspecially the greenie. just curious...

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

I am taking a shot at selling them pre-loaded with diodes, drivers , mirror aligned and color balanced.

The time it takes to do them well is the only thing that worries me. I want to keep it affordable so it's going to come down to perfecting my method and doing some things in batches.

Thanks,

Ryan

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

Update:

I recieved word that the heat sinks were sent out yesterday on time. The preporation for the rest of the kits are going well so my estimated Ship Ready date of Friday or Saturday for Kits only is looking good.

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

I so want to get one of these, it looks like an awesome build. Half the fun is building it and knowing how it all works. I'll have to start saving for this, but I will get one down the road. I hope you will continue to make these available sightfx :D

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

The Heat Sinks are in and I have been working my tail off. I should have as many as 12 kits ready to go by the end of the week.

There's room for a few more people who want to build there own from scratch to put your name on one from this run. For those who are waiting for a loaded kit I have some 6x BRDs comming and my name on some controler / TTL drivers from FireMyLaser. PM me and Let me know if you would like me to build something different for you and if you want a 405G1 lens added to your Kit so I can order the parts.

Thanks,

Ryan

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

The blu-ray is the limiting factor isn't it. Put me down for a 405G1 lens. I've already got a few, but you can't get enough of them! All the power possible would be needed...

... You know I wonder how hard a 8X could be pushed under scanner conditions...

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

I'm either putting 2x 8x or 2x 12x in my up coming scanner so I'll let you know in a month or two how they hold up. I'm going to get a Laserbee I and do some long run time tests to see how they hold up.

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

I could probably just rig it into one of my scanners and use my power meter to test through a diode. Hmmm, but do I want to spend that much money just to find out what the best power to run it at is? Or should I just play it safe instead and lower the power to a safe amount... so complicated, lol.

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

I figured I would toss out some suggestions for the switches on these things. I've actually used these two switches so know that they are wonderful!!!

This one is for sale $5 shipped

Here is a picture for size comparison to a normal white leadlight pen switch. I prefer the one that is mounted to the pcb as it can be depressed in the center to activate all of them or like an analog controller each direction can activate one or two if diagonal.

I plan to send out the loaded kits with the GGW 6x BRD set to 150mW and the other lasers adjusted to white balance. Before doing that though I will do a 1hr constant duty cycle test on one to be sure the heat sinks will cool well enough at that output.

Thanks,

Ryan

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

Okay, that sounds good. So with the 405G1 lens that would probably get to around 200mW and still be around the same power input. That's good, that should boost up the other lasers nicely :)

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

Sight - Count me in for a full blown kit, all pre-set and whatnot ^_^ your TOO good to us, you really are. I wish i had something to donate to the cause

(I still have some LPC-819 diodes for reds if you'd like to test them and see if their any good, beam quality wise and all, meaning to see if their any good in this application) to be honest, i've hooked three of them up, just like we do the other reds, and it seems they have a different pin-out...weird. either that or every single brand new, buble sealed diode (factory seal) was broken... anyone ever do work with the LPC-819 diode, or have any information on it's pin-out (i would assume it would be the same) i have yet to try switching pins around, their not too expensive, so maybe i should.

But mos def count me in for a fully set up kit with 6x and all that goodness, (turning mirror too ^_^) thats such a lifesaver.

Thanks Sight :)

Send your copperhead, small red diodes(s), and an LPC-819 or two to someone who can test them. The information will help the forum AND your webstore.

BTW, if you choose to send something to IgorT make sure you communicate with him well. His customs are horrendous. We have to jump through some hoops VERY carefully to get stuff to him without great cost to him.

Peace,
dave

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

Thats what i planned to do, ecspecially with the 819's, i've been waiting for test results on the 819 for a long time, i can hardly wait, it "supposed" to be better than LPC-819 diodes, they dont even have windows on them. so i've kinda got my hopes up that they are the real deal. they were sent as samples.

And i always make sure to communicate well with IgorT, we have done good business in the past, im sure there wont be any issues getting him some free diodes to test, unless your reffering to his customs being VERY tough... wich i agree, i will label them as "printer parts" or something else if anyone has any suggestions, i dont want to get IgorT into any trouble. that would be horrible.

Yes. The trouble comes from Slovenia's customs deprtment.

Have him send you a copy of an "invoice" for you to include in the package. He knows them best :(

Re: Custom 7 Color DIY Laser Kit

Ok, i will reffer to him for the propper advice, he would of course, know it better than anyone. i just remember him sending me "printer parts" when i had my 4x diodes in stock way back when.

I've PM'ed him as well, but i know he is a verry bussy person, so i will wait patiently.

not trying to thread-jack, but is it possible that the LPC-819 diode DOES have a different pin-out? there isnt any documentation on it that i can find, and they dont come out of sleds, they were brand spankin new, and the "usual" ground pin IS the case pin, the queston is, is it really case negative, or have they created a red diode in the same fashion as a blu-ray? (case pin not used) very interesting, and it would be great for the forum to have access to better red diodes (if they live up to the sellers claims that is...) because their CHEAP!
