FS: Pocket Mini Build Kit! - Easy Assembly!

Welcome! LPF is the best...

I'm going to recommend that you start with a PHR diode because they are cheap.

Most people kill a diode or two in their first build. They are very sensitive to ESD and can also be damabed if you over heat the pins during harvest and soldering.

You can get them pre-installed into AixiZ modules at modwerx.com or hightechdealz.com

Check this post to see what is needed on your part if you get the 'Hot' option kit:

There are links to video tutorials for harvesting sleds if you don't want to get your diodes pre-installed into AixiZ modules, but I recommend doing that for your first build.

Be sure to take note of the eye safety warning in that post as well.

When your ready, send me a PM! :)

k thank you and one other thing I actual got two 2 watt c-mount diodes for free i have not tested them or anything but they should work. I am only interested in laser pointers though and nothing bigger is there any way to use them in a pointer? what i have seen so far suggests that the heat sink would have to be rather large. But your kit seems like a good place to start I'll do a little more research and send you a pm.

No problem with the heatsinking, but you will have to find a driver that regulates through the negative side, since the diodes are case positive...

So in your research, look into that. Not many people doing those builds. I saw a thread somewhere though...

Here's one person who was working on a build like that, you might send him a message to find out what he did: (there are flashlight drivers that are like that. Maybe AMC7135)

Pocket Mini kits sent/delivered today: (Tuesday)

Golden Dragon (and other items)
freqjn73 (and other items)

You guys will like this new style Pocket Mini... Not just the GITD tail cap, but the heatsink is larger for this one because the pill is a little shorter...

It's a nice build!

Krasnichuk, I am sending your Pocket Mini kit with copper heatsink and other item today. (Wednesday)

Hope you like it!

I just want to say that you did a great job with installing the tritium marker on my pocket mini. It has sometimes helped me in finding it better when it's dark.
Thanks.

Hey jayrob, If I get the pocket mini with the hot option I add 48 dollars to the original price or is that the price altogether with the hop option?

It would cost you $26 shipped for a FlexDrive...

So your paying about $22 dollars extra for my labor to install the driver (connected to the host/pill), and have lead wires soldered on and ready for you. With current pre-set.

If you get the 'Hot' option, do not install a battery until you have your diode connected. (or if you know how to use a test load to check current) Because the FlexDrive will get damaged if you power it without a load.

Here is a good post that shows what is needed on your part if you get the Pocket Mini with 'Hot' option:
