Set at 190mA's per our conversation...

Hope your build goes well!

The power depends on your diode that you must install on your own...

(I do not sell complete lasers, or even laser diodes with my kits)

The tritium is considered harmless...

okay so i want to order the kit with hot option. i have a 200mW 650nm red Laser Diode and the aixiz module. what else do i need except for the allen key. and what battery is best to use with this.

If you already have your diode and AixiZ module, all you need with the 'Hot' option, is a 1.5mm Allen wrench for the set screw, and a battery. (CR123, or RCR123 rechargeable)

Of course you will have to understand how to solder to your diode pins. I like to use small lead wires on the pins, and then connect the diode leads, to the driver leads. But you can also just solder the driver leads directly to the pins.

The main thing, is to know for sure exactly what diode you have. If it is a Sony 1239JL-54 (Senkat) diode, then it will be about 200mW's if you have the current at 300mA's. (AixiZ acrylic) But it will last longer at a little conservative setting of say 270mA's...

At that current, you would still get well over 200mW's if you wanted to use my 650-G-1 glass lens modification:

The lens mod is fit for an AixiZ module, and comes ready to thread right in...

It is not an inexpensive lens assembly, but it will last a lifetime if not abused.

Send me a private message about exactly what diode you have. And I can give you recommendations on what current to have the 'Hot' option set to...

will the components from the original pocket mini kit fit in the chrome host or are they non compatable?

I don't know if the threading on the pill is the same, but he heatsink diameter is the same...

It is a little longer heatsink on the Chrome Pocket Mini, but it would still work with the shorter one...

so what your saying is that i can take the pill and heatsink with my build from the original pocket mini kit and move it into the chrome host?

would you be willing to sell me just the chrome host with all original parts straight from dealextreme? i am not thrilled with waiting a month for dx shipping to california

What I'm saying, is that the heatsink will fit, but that I don't know if the threads will be the same for the pill...

I have even found different threading on the same batch of Pocket Mini's...

So you just never know about that part. It may, or may not work out.

I only have one chrome one left on hand, and it won't last long. So sorry, but I need it for my 'Hot' option kits. I have others on order as well, but they usually are sold before I can even get them in hand.

It's just that I can't afford to stock more than about 3 to 5 at a time. Because I have so many different kits...

Kingdave2357, I sent your Pocket Mini Chrome kits with your lens today. (Saturday)

I just wanted to show this picture of the pill on this Chrome version of the Pocket Mini...

Of course I drilled out the top of the pill, but the thick brass ring has two boards. The top board has the circuit built onto it, and you can just remove the top board...

Then use the bottom board for your battery contact, and to mount your FlexDrive onto. The best place to make the negative connection, is to solder directly to the brass ring. (IMO)

Hope you like the kits!

Kits look sweeet:D Thanks Jay!! Cant wait to build my 12x in this host, gonna look awesome, Thanks for making these chrome kits for us:D
