FS: Pocket Mini Build Kit! - Easy Assembly!

No I don't...

Just send me a PM! :)

Xerravon, thanks!

Glad you like it...

Hey Jay, I just got my $200 check from G4TV, so I'll be buying one of your Pocket Mini's sometime soon.

I'm thinking of getting:
Pocket Mini
Hot Option
405-g-1 lens

also, I was wondering what the pros and cons of Copper are versus Aluminum?

Copper is better for heatsinking...

But quite honestly, the aluminum heatsink is fine in this build. The threaded aluminum pill screws into the host, and makes good contact against the heatsink, pressing it firmly against the host.

So in effect, the entire host/heatsink/pill, is the heatsink!

I have all parts on hand, so just let me know when your ready! :)

Ha! Those nice big pictures don't prepare you for how small this thing is :)

Awesome quality as usual :)

Oh you got your package then huh?

Good to know...

Hope your builds go well! :)

After looking at my collection of lasers, I think I need another Pocket Mini.
With the snazzy copper heatsink, please...
Off to Paypal...

Got you covered...

Good deal...

Sending your heatsink and marble for the Glow Marble Mini Light project today.

:thanks:

WOW jay that was fast shipping! It only took 2 days!

I ordered it from Jay tuesday night.

He sent it out wednesday.

2 days later (friday) I get it! :p

The Pocket mini is way smaller than I thought it would be. It's about the size of a 12 gauge shotgun shell..

One thing I'm not sure about is if the very front actually unscrews? Cause if so, it's sure on there tight!

I also found out that my previous MXDL build has a Sure Module. I thought it was Aixiz, but the the 405-g-1 lens made for the Aixiz didn't fit in it. Now I'm just waiting till this monday's paycheck so I can get the 6x diode and module!

I can fit the lens nut for the Sure module if you need me to, but yeah... if you get an AixiZ module, then your good to go.

About the host, if you take a look at the first post in this thread, there are some build tips at the bottom of the post that explain a couple things. The host only comes apart in one spot. Right at about the center...

thanks!

yeah right now I'm just trying to think of a way I could mod the inside of the module so the lens will actually stop when it's in perfect focus. I can see myself and other people twisting it past focus and possibly hitting the diode. Maybe there's something like a small washer I can glue to the bottom of the silver focusing head so it will actually make contact with the heatsink before it hits the lens.

It's too bad I had both the sure and aixiz module mixed up.

Maybe I'm just over reacting, is it annoying at all that the perfect focus is in the middle? how do people overcome this issue?:p

I did this lens modification based on a 'flush pressed' diode for an AixiZ module...

Even so, there will be a little gap between the focus ring and the face of the module to allow for long distance focusing such as outside.

If your diode is pressed past the 'flush point', and all the way into the module, then the gap between the focus ring and the module will be larger...

ndrew2505, I am sending your Pocket Mini kits (and other items) today. (Monday)

Thanks! :)
