As you said, I first tried desoldering red/IR-diode and I failed. Then I took the chance of ruining blu-ray diode and tried desoldering it to. And I think I succeeded this time. Does it seem like I succeeded? :D

Looks like you melted the insulation around the diode pin :-/
 





It does look that way...

But it may still be fine. You will not be using the diode 'case pin' in case you are not familiar with these blu-ray diodes. The pin connection is different than the reds.

Hmm. I will try it without that insulation around the diode pin, if it doesn't work I will see what I can do about it.

What do you mean?
"Trying it without the insulation" isn't a matter of preferance.
If the insulation is melted, the pin will be loose, and the hair thin wire inside will break.
 
I think I misunderstood jayrob's message.

I thought he meant there may be a chance that it may still work without it.

I checked it and I am 100% sure that there is a hole there.
 
Spyder is correct, if the pin is loose, it is history...

What I meant, is that maybe it got too hot, but possibly the pin may not be loose, and it could still work.

If not, where can i find only the diode and aixis module ?

I don't have any for sale, but jake21 had some, I don't know if he still has them or not, but you can message him...

Also, check with scopeguy20 for the GGW 6X sleds. I believe he may have a few extra! ;)

The first post in this thread is a good guide for the assembly, I have some 'build tips' at the bottom of the first post...

Here's some more tips for you! ;)

Do not power the FlexDrive without a proper load. You can damage it.

Here is a diagram that shows how to connect your DMM for testing current: (he shows a different driver and a home made test load, but the connections are the same)

About the assembly...

With the 'hot option', the FlexDrive will come already mounted into the pill like this picture shows:

See how the wires that come out of the pill show some heat shrink tubing on them between the driver and the module/diode?

That is where you would make your connection. With the 'Hot' option, I would send the kit with the Flexdrive installed and wires coming out of the pill with the ends already stripped and the current set. The heatsink will be included in the kit, but not the module or diode.

Your part will be to mount your module/diode into the heatsink (as shown) with small wire leads soldered onto your diode pins. (notice how I have the wire bent over at the pins to give more room in the small build) The wires are bent, not the pins. You do this when the heat shrink tubing is still warm, right when you shrink it. Then the heat shrink tubing cools into the bent over shape...

I got my kit today (man that shipped fast). It is much smaller then it looks in your pictures. Thanks again.

Anyway I have a quick question. The leads coming off the board can be soldered onto the Flexdrive right? I assume they can but just wanted to make sure before I mess anything up.
 
Yes, those leads on the stock round board are perfect for your input side of the FlexDrive! Easy huh? 8-)

I just use double sided tape to mount the driver into the pill, that way it doubles to isolate any metal contact points. (remember, the FlexDrive needs a proper load when you power it)
