FS: Pocket Mini Build Kit! - Easy Assembly!

jayrob said:
Yes, those leads on the stock round board are perfect for your input side of the FlexDrive! Easy huh? 8-)

I just use double sided tape to mount the driver into the pill, that way it doubles to isolate any metal contact points. (remember, the FlexDrive needs a proper load when you power it)

Let us know how it goes!
Jay

Yeah I was pretty sure I could use them. It does make things a lot easier! I will be sure to post some pics and let you know how it goes.

Looking forward to your pictures!

Orders shipping today. (Monday)

tj - Your Pocket Mini kit with 'Hot' option and other items

Hope you like them! :)

Got everything finally assembled today. Think i might need to add some more protection from shorts. gotta find my roll of electrical tape or something. soldering the wires to the pins on the diode proved to be a pain in the ass. got a little sloppy. but after firing it up it seems my amateur work still paid off. Everything seems to be working fine, even got some smoke from a piece of black duct tape in my room. hope i didn't butcher it. i'll take some pictures when the battery is finished charging. might be able to get some beam pics too.

Looking forward to your pictures! :)

Update:

I just finished my design for a Pocket Mini EzFocus adapter! :D

I will be selling these as an option to get with my Pocket Mini Kits, or separately! ;)

Note: Designed for use with my 405-G-1 glass lens modification, or my Meredith glass 'fit for AixiZ' lens mod.

You can set the module in the desired position. I will offer them knurled, as the pictures show.

These will be $20 dollars plus shipping...

Absolutely! :)

That is... if I send you a PayPal invoice, there is an option to pay with a credit card even if you do not have a PayPal account!

PM me your e-mail and I can send you a PayPal invoice...

ok great i need a mini pocket kit with the hot option and the driver set to 120mA for a blu ray module. thanks

americanskater24@sbcglobal.net

p.s it comes put into the pill rite.
p.s.s do you have any heat shrink tube that i could use by any chance i went to lowes and couldnt find any.

thank you

Ok... I'll send you an invoice for:

* Pocket mini kit with 'Hot' option. (set at 120mA's - blu-ray test load)
* A piece of heat shrink tubing.
(you can always get my 405-G-1 glass lens modification later) - 26% increase in power vs AixiZ acrylic! (back opened)

Yes, the dirver will be installed with lead wires sticking out the pill...

Hot option.jpg

With the 'hot option', the FlexDrive will come already mounted into the pill like this picture shows:

See how the wires that come out of the pill show some heat shrink tubing on them between the driver and the module/diode?
That is where you would make your connection. I would send the kit with the Flexdrive installed and wires coming out of the pill with the ends already stripped and the current set. The heatsink will be included in the kit, but not the module or diode.

Your part will be to mount your module/diode into the heatsink (as shown) with small wire leads soldered onto your diode pins. (notice how I have the wire bent over at the pins to give more room in the small build) The wires are bent, not the pins. You do this when the heat shrink tubing is still warm, right when you shrink it. Then the heat shrink tubing cools into the bent over shape...

Hey, do you happen to do fully-assembled BRs as well? I'm too lazy (and inexperienced) to build my own.

Sorry, not selling complete builds. Just kits, you have to get your own diode to build it into an laser. But with the 'Hot' option, most of the work is already done. All you have to do is harvest your diode and press it into an AixiZ module, and complete the assembly. Here's a good tutorial on diode harvest and pressing it into the module:

hey i found that on modwerx.com they sell red diodes (open can) and blu ray diodes with wire leads soldered to them pre installed in the axiz module. i sugest getting the hot option with the driver set to 120mA.

hope this helped you.
