FS: MXDL Silver Kits

i don't know the specifics of ow it works, all i know is it "boosts" the output voltage allowing you to run a diode that requires 5v, on just a 3v battery, i believe the 8x was pulling around 5.7v at 350mA, which is right at the limit of the flex drive.

MXDL hosts have shipped and should be built and ready to ship out by monday.

I will be adding pre-order pricing probably thurs.

This be be for the kits without flex drives.

Dr. lava won't have flex drives available untill the beginning of sept. which is only a week or two away.

I really want one of these kits but with the flex drive included

Hey moh!
If you buy it with a driver is the driver already installed and you solder the wires from the driver to the diode in the aixiz module?

Thanks.

thats exactly correct Eku.
when you buy it with the driver everything is installed and and ready, and the driver will have two wires coming out.
You just solder the wires onto your module, lock it down into the heatisnk and put the flashlight back together and your done.

I'll be making the video tutorial soon.....tutorial will be using an 8x BDR diode.

got the hosts in today. these will make great lasers.
i'll be heading to the machinist on monday.

added new picture also

6x sled is incoming for tutorial and will go talk to the machinist tomorrow, So i plan to have the video tutorial up, and heatsinks in stock by the end of the week.

I have to go pick the heatsinks up on friday, So orders without the flex drive will ship on friday!

Very cool kit! I also like a small unit that can use ava. Primary or rechargeable battery! ;) -Glenn

Hey Moh, you got a Garuntee on this SF diode in here, since your runnin it a lil hot? If it blows in a day or so... you got another?

yeah you got it dark.

i am also debating on whether i want to send these out to people as kits. They require a little more skill to assemble than i originally intended.
because of how they are designed, using the case to complete the circuit, but not using any switches, it's easily for people to complete their build, and end up with a laser that "flicker" or will randomly turn on.

the PCB has to be pressed into that retainer, but at the same time can't be pressed all the way because you want to avoid making contact to the case..

this poses a problem for case negative diodes such as red, which maybe simply travel through the threads of the host and not rely on the PCB at all...i haven't tested ti yet but i am guessing red lasers would be very faulty with this kit.

i may simply end up building them all myself with phr diodes and selling them off at cost..
they are great lasers when properly built, but it's got to be done a certain way and i know if i send them off to a bunch of different people i am going to get flooded with lots of troubleshooting.
