i am selling one of my kryton groove lasers. it is polished and has a PHR-803T diode and a groove driver set at 120mA. it uses 2x CR123 (16340) or 1x 18650. this laser burns really nice, and i am letting it go cheap to fund my next laser project a 30K scanner.

:anyone:

I am asking $80.00 for this laser + S&H (usually less than $5.00)

the heatshrink on the tail switch spring is to isolate the spring from the spacer (separate case from battery GND) and the wire on the groove driver is flying leads to the diode, since the diode is recessed into the head.

This is a steal folks considering the Groove alone is worth $50 and the flex $23. You won't get a better chance to own your very own Kryton Groove!!!

my bad. Sorry no flex drive. Groove driver. Still a good driver.

i have had good luck with the groove drivers (especially under 200mA) stability. pretty flat line on the meter.
i agree it is a good deal, i just want to start my new project.
once pmt is received, i will ship.

Payment sent? Aaah, hell, I PM'd the confirmation I'd take it hours ago, hopefully I managed to get my reservation in first (Sorry, Bob) ...

Wait I sent my payment in as soon as it was posted , then i confirmed i wanted it. .

no sorry guys, Bob_Boyce has won this. he sent his pmt at 4:30 yesterday afternoon and pm me about an hour before. i may sell another kryton in about another week or two, except this one has a v3 flexdrive in it.

Yes it came in on the 1st, thank you. Sorry, I forgot to check back here to let you know. I have not been monitoring this forum nearly as much since the shoutbox was removed. I've been over on laserchat.

Oh, I reset the groove driver to 100mA and it is working fine. If I keep this, I will very likely replace that groove driver with the more efficient drlava FlexDrive V4, and put in a 6X or 8X blu-ray LD. I have been holding off in case someone wants to work out a trade, as I hate to modify rare originals.

Bob

i had the option to use a flexdrive, but i needed it in a smaller host. the groove driver is a pretty stable driver, but you can get more runtime off of 1x 18650 using a flexdrive. other than that there aren't any other benefits. im glad you got the laser quickly. hope you enjoy. if you want the inserts you get the 2mm rubber from here.
