So Ben's will be 350ma?

I was going to say that you could use them for LOCs, but you probably can't on account of the case-negative nature of a LOC, right?

I designed them for LOCs.

Now that I saw you comment I thought "Why would that matter?" Took a good look at the typical applcation picture...

The pin "Out" that is described as "Output Pins. Connected to load." I Thought was a positive output pin, not a negative output pin! :gun: :banghead:

i guess they will still work with a LOC but it will need to be isolated :mad:

They will still work for a loc if you do 2 things.

1. Wrap a piece of tape around the module.
2. Bend the case pin to the floating pin and solder it.

Now you just solder on the driver and it will work!

They should work for the new 635 diodes as is. And I have another one with a 2nd amc7135 on the back so that will do 700ma for the 635 diode.

I'm not sure exactly how you wired yours, but for my round one (which I haven't actually had fabricated - I have so many boards already floating around), I took the following approach:

Diode (+) is continuous with driver (+)
Diode (case) is the driver (- in)
Diode (-) is the driver (- out)

So, in theory, you can slip one driver on the pins for 700mA. If you want 1050mA, you can actually just slide an entire second driver on the pins too! (the drivers are THAT thin)

Because diode (+) is also driver (+), you won't even need a second lead going to the second driver. Just slip one (2x AMC7135) driver on, solder the leads, slip another (1x AMC7135) driver on, solder the leads, add a single (+) lead to one of the drivers, and you're set.

Plus, if the Mitsubishi 500s end up liking 1.4A (a reasonable figure), it will be super simple to just slip on two Mosquito Round drivers, solder them up, and you'd basically have a 1.4A single cell driver taking up no more space than the diode's natural pin length. At least, that was my theory in designing it.

I haven't fabbed them - was going to wait until the first test of the Mits 500 comes in.

Thats exactly how I redesigned mine.

Origninally I assumed out was +out and ground was continuous so I designed them for a loc.

Looks nice, but I would suggest moving that one via a little bit, it looks like it might short with the tab of the 7135. I assume you are just not soldering the tab? There isnt a pad for it.

I edited the tab out of the part in the library, so that's just silkscreen. I always arctic silver the ICs on first, so it's probably fine, but that's an easy enough via to move - so good call.

EDIT:
- Since you've gotten me interested in this design again, may as well spruce it up a tad. Here's a final cosmetic tweak :)
- The one downside to this board is that it's 10.5mm in diameter. I'm not sure that this will fit inside an Aixiz module. It will certainly fit inside a heatsink, but by the time you use some kapton tape to protect the board edges (important for a tight squeeze like this), I don't think it'll fit inside the module.

FINAL EDIT:
- I can get the board down to 10mm diameter, but squeezing things in a bit and pushing the caps inwards an rotating. The edge of the board will still need kapton taping to be safe, but I think this will fit inside an aixiz. 10mm diameter ought to fit.
- Also, you'll note that the traces look small. They're 15mil. Keep in mind that because both sides of the board have direct access to all three diode pins, as well as the driver's + and - leads, there's never a situation where a trace will be carrying more than 350mA of current. Most calculators peg my required trace width at 3mil. I think 15mil is overkill.

I remember you saying that you arctic silver them on first, but if it would happen to touch that connection would hook your LD straight to your batteries, and that wouldnt be good at all :beer:

Im pretty sure mine wont fit inside an aixis module. From the center of the diode connection to the edge of the board is 5.5 mm so it will fit inside a heatsink. It has nearly a milimeter that could be filed off also...

What size is that text on the bottom left? From what Ive found .024 is pretty much the smallest you can go, and even then sometimes you can hardly read it.

RHD, i got your driver the other day, looks pretty awesome!
I don't have a 635 diode though, So i mailed the driver to Clif so that he could play with it. Figured it could help get things rolling with you two if he has a sample.
