Just tonight I finished machining the ATM-20 (Aixiz Table Mount 2") Which is a clam shell heat sink for Aixiz laser diode module.  This is the prototype, but it looks and works perfectly.  The final sales version will be black anodized.  It is one inch square and has a 2" above the surface output.  The base is thru drilled on 1" centers to mount to optical tables.  One could use 1/4 x20 or 10/32" screws for mounting.

I saw what great things this community is doing at this forum and this is the first of many items that I would like to contribute.  My best guess is around $30.00 in quantities of one.  I am also able to laser engrave anything that you would like for an additional charge.  If you are interested in one or more..PLEASE!!!! PM ME!!!!

Thank you for looking!

Thanks for looking Spyderz. You say looks good but really what do you think. Are there any improvements you could suggest? I plan on making a series of table top type post and holders and thing a ma jigs for tabletop laser fun. Expand the pointer fun sort of horizon!

If you have the necessary tools, you should add fins, and space for a driver inside ;)

thanks for reply, i thought about fins but that would be more machining, more cost, and less chance of anyone buying one (no one has bought one yet). I thought you could put the driver ckt inside the Aixiz module? What do you mean?

I mean you should make more room, so we can fit drivers like FlexMods, to make lab style lasers...

i think u should bore out the inside so u can hide ur batteries, wire, driver ect... and drill a hole for some kind of switch 8-)

Thank you all these are very good suggestions. Keep in mind I am a newbie to diodes. I dont know what a fleximod is i'll search for it. If you have a quick link that shows me dimentions and things that would help. I thought most people use the aixiz module with the drive ckt (drlava) installed and just two wires coming out going to a wall wart or something like that. This was just a mount to hold a diode and heat sink it and allow harder pumping of current, I might have been mistaken.

The drlava driver is too big to fit inside an aixiz module.

Yeah the flexdrive wont fit in the aixiz but its still very tiny. Use a dab of glue to fix the driver to the back of this unit, problem solved  8-)

With a setup like this, one generally wants to have the driver and module separate anyway.

Thanks for your help last night gooeygus getting the current right. I ran it in this heatsink for at least 2.5 hours and the current was stable within 1ma.

Well it will defnitely suck the heat away from the module that would allow you longer run times plus it has the added bonus that it will hold your module 2" above the table surface for you to do experiments with. You could play with lenses and may be burn a fly or something!

will the ENTIRE aixiz module fit inside the heatsink?

i'm not sure what the design is like, does the aixiz module stick out of the back end of it?

hmmm.... ok ignore my last post, i see how it works.

this would actually be pretty cool, i'm not sure if i would even want the driver to fit inside.

what would be awesome is if there was a way to "clamp" down the driver to the heatsink also.....
to keep the lm317 from overheating when i'm pushing a diode.

Hmmmmm....great possibilities for use with a TEC. I like it.. :)
