Ok, i'll be away for most of the weekend (might not be able to answer), because i have to deliver the devices, that are going to pay for our lenses among other things, and when i return, i will ship out the lasers..

There have been some delays (and lots of lost money), because i was sent the wrong hosts and had to redesign the driver, and because the original heatsinks didn't fit well into the new hosts either, but now it's all been solved, and at the moment, it's actually a joy putting these together.


The good news is, that everyone will be getting the v2 heatsink, which allows reaching a higher power with a 100% duty cycle! When i get back, i will finish these up, and send them out.


By the end of next week, i will be able to accept orders again. There will be a couple of host options for two price ranges. Pics soon!

Yes, i accept PayPal.. It's the only thing i can accept, and i have to, even tho i don't have a way of getting the money out yet. But at least i can buy more diodes with it.. :)


Where i ship from? Didn't i just tell you in a PM, that i am from Slovenia? ;)
I use Registered Priority AirMail, which is $6 within EU and $9 worldwide..

oo, i gotcha. i didn't know if you meant that your from Slovenia or if you currently live there. But that clears things up quite a bit. thanks :)

Anyway, i'm gonna post some pictures tonight.. They will contain 1.4W of 405nm.. ;) Or if i manage to make one for myself as well, 1.5W of 405nm.. :)


After tomorrow, i will finally be able to take more orders for the slightly different models of lasers, than originally planned.

BTW: I've never had so many lasers in front of me before... Just posting all of these is gonna take most of the day! :o

Well, i just wanted to do the beams, not the dots..

But i was thinking it would be cool to point all of them at my meter, so it would show almost 1.5W.. :D
It would be hard to do without 15 tripods tho.. :(


BTW: These diodes really ARE as powerful as 16x reds.. Dave has one peaking at above 200mW and stabilizing at 180mW!
100mW is a piece of cake for them.. Good thing i put in the jumpers for higher currents.. ;)

Oh, I meant the beams, not the dots.

So the power (>120mw) listed in my sig, can easily be acheivable? Anyway,put the current as high as possible without risking the diode, as I am hungry for BR power! [smiley=evil.gif]

The diode is ALWAYS at risk. The higher you push it, the higher the risk. The longer you run it for, the higher the risk. The rougher it is handled, the higher the risk.

We are ALWAYS balancing what we want (more power, brighter beam, faster burning) against how much risk we are willing to take.

How much risk are YOU willing to take? That should guide what you ask IgorT for.

[highlight]**EDIT mostly for IgorT's benefit**[/highlight] I now believe that the "peak" is an artifact of the testing components (specifically the surface absorbing calorimeter). It does NOT "peak" above 200. The meter reacts to initial energizing by showing a "peak." The volume absorbing calorimeters do NOT show these "peaks." It is putting out 180mW, NOT peaking above 200mW and then settling down to 180mW.

Well, I meant so that the risk wouldn't be too high. Igor is setting mine at 125mA, which he says is relatively safe for an 803T. What are you driving yours at to make it hold 180mw, Dave?

Well, i have not seen such peaks on my meter anyway, which is why i was always surprised, when reading about them. I associate peaking with green lasers..
With diodes, i mostly see a certain power, that slowly drops with heat..


How quickly does this "peak" happen? Is your meter the digital one?
What do you mean by "initial energizing"?

BTW: Even if it was a real peak, that is not what i'm after.. I was just passing along information..

They look nice, hopefully the prices for these and the diodes will come down in a few months .
