FS: 1.62W 520nm "Probably the world's most powerful green handheld" $425 OBO

Re: FS: "Probably the world's most powerful green handheld" 1.62W 520nm $475

-if it's running off one cell it's a boost drive.
-it's a multimode diode, the beam won't look good regardless of what lens you use. Your other 520 looked good because those lower powere diodes are single mode.
-No idea what you are talking about with your third point. Are you telling atomicrox He should buy this instead of what he wants, simply because it's a 1W 520nm laser??
-it's really not that rare...so what, you got a diode that does 150mW-ish higher than normal. 150mW in the grand scheme of multiple watts of a color this close to peak sensitivity is not that great.

Not only all of that ^ but there are more powerful 520 builds out there. Just use the search bar.

I'm saying the beam not being able to be corrected will be a problem in all of these lasers (Even the screw in ones he mentioned). Are there really? Show me at least 2. I'm not here to argue with anyone, I just want the laser sold so I can pay some bill's and possibly buy a nice DPSS laser down the line since that is what I'm looking for.

UPDATE: The driver is a custom built 5A max boost/SEPIC driver.

:bumpit:

I need this sold ASAP so temporary* price drop to $425
this will only last until Friday 1/23, as that is when I get my paycheck and won't need the money as badly.

*After Friday the price will go back to the price mentioned in the OP

Never heard of selective eye damage like that. Very unlikely...

*snip*

If I may chime in real quick.

It was documented back when the blue diodes were still fairly new, that over exposure to the high intensity blue light involved in these "new" (at the time) blue laser diodes, could cause a measurable degradation in green vision.

In the aspect of "shade differentiation" if you would like to call it that. Basically, degrade the ability to tell apart various shades of green.

Thanks for the info, had never heard about that. I'm curious to learn more about that, do you have a link?

DTR sells 520nm specific 3-element lenses (I personally own a few) and have one on my 1.5W 520nm. I have switched almost all of my high powered units over to a 3-element from G-2s for the reason others have stated.

Partial cash and trade for 150mw Laserglow 532nm with shutter problem?

Is this laser still available?
