Free Laser (For Me...Score)

Despite my hate for WL I took 20 minutes and found 23 spelling and grammatical errors and they said they would be sending me a free gift. Even I can't turn down free lasers. I wonder how long it will take to get here. Considering how long it takes for them to send a $1,000 laser I probably wont see it until the year 2019

^ Free lasers go out immediately... so two weeks is a good estimate depending on your location. East Coast customs (in the US) tends to hang onto them for 7-10 days (sometimes).

I thought you got banned. Either way thanks for the info

LMAO!!! When did you place the order?

They responded back and said I would be receiving a gift 6 days ago. In reality it'll probably be here in 3-4 weeks.

Funny how they charge for express shipping, show it as in stock and than still take forever. Gift is always nice, but considering the price of this laser you'd think they would manage to get it out with some speed. Hopefully they aren't going through hundreds of these to just pick out the occasional one that hits over 500mW. Wouldn't surprise me though.

Brave of you to order one... foolish, but hey, it's your money... so brave:beer:

No you misunderstood me. I would never order anything from WL. I did the thing where you get a free gift for finding spelling mistakes and that's what they said they would send out 6 days ago. It will be a cold day in hell before I give me hard earned money to WL.

I sent them a email with 5 grammatical errors and a better way to phrase 3 or 4 things (rephrasing what doesn't really make sense in the first place lol)
I wonder if they'll even reply. :o

Edit: in all fairness to them, i got a reply in under 12 hours!
They did keep to their word and said they are shipping a core.
I guess getting a customers perspective on understanding their site is worth more than i thought.

Ahh, Ok, that makes a bit more sense:)

By this I thought you meant that you ordered one of the kraptons from them.

I figured that was where the misunderstanding was. But yea I would never put my hard earned money into wicked lasers pocket but like I said even I can't turn down free lasers :D

Although I would like to find a legit 900-1000mW 532nm handheld laser. I have this lab laser
Laserglow Technologies - Handheld Lasers, Alignment Lasers and Lab / OEM Lasers
in 2,500mW but you can't exactly bring it outside that easily. I like the laserglow hercules series but everything at laserglow has gotten expensive. For example when I got the lab laser mentioned above it was cheaper than they're current price for a 2,000mW 532nM. But in the end laserglow is unbeatable IMO. They make quality products and have great customer service.

^^^The max I've seen personally in a handheld was ~700mW of 532nm. That was on my DD groupbuy firedragon. Unfortunately all that power also came with some pretty crappy beam specs.

Now for outside "wow" purposes I use an overspec o-like torch that peaks at ~550mW and does ~500mW stable.

Unless the new modules (being used by wicked and rayfoss) fall in price, IMO they aren't worth jumping on... at least not yet. LG is great when it comes to service and quality... but their prices give me heart attacks sometimes.

Funny that you mention that laser because I've been looking at the 0-like 500mW torch. It's definitely a great price for a 500mW especially compared to the price for a lot of other 500mW hand held lasers. How do you like the laser? Have you had any problems with it? How was shipping and customer service from o-like?

I have an older version of the torch actually... not the new "tactical" one.

Both version seem to be basically the same internally... so it's luck of the draw on whether you get lucky or not.

I would go with the 400mW version from lazerer... it seems to use a more efficient driver that doesn't produce nearly as much heat iirc.

Great minds think alike, that is the other laser I have been looking at. Thanks for the info.
