FOR SALE - Massive Selection of Host + Heatsink COMBOs :)

I'm very interested in #12, the FireDragon host. Can you reserve it for me, and if I don't get back to you by tomorrow, let it go for someone else? Thanks.

Also, I have two questions:
1. About how large is it?
2. What battery configuration does it take?

Thanks,
Grant

Hey Grant. Sorry - As mentioned, the only fair way to do this is to let people claim the hosts as theirs as we go. So if you want it, it's yours (as of now) but no reserving. It takes an 18650, and it's about the size of a banana.

I'd be up for some of the LEDs, but maybe half the lot or so, if someone would split the lot with me... so, half of #16 ;)

If you can find someone, that's fine with me, until that point though, I still have to consider them up for sale.

Great Sale!

I'll take both of the #15 host's!
:beer::beer:

PM'd - they're yours.

Ill take 1 each of the following:
pic 1, Accent host
pic 5, chrome/silvert
pic 7, large fandyfire host
pic 8, sh-032 host
pic 11, rayovac

And, if you don't mind I'll wait a day or so on making payment, until you post the rest of the pics, and I'll likely take some more as well.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's fair to hold any of the hosts (and I know there are some PMs waiting for me about various hosts. To be fair, since it's the approach I said I'd stick to in this thread, I'm going to process all of the thread comments before any PMs. But that said, unless you're saying "I'll take these now", I don't think it's fair to hold any (same concern as for Jimmymcjimthejim)

That's what I was saying: I''l take them now, but will probably want to add more once you get the rest of your stuff posted. But that's fine and the money has been sent.

Please don't ship anythjing yet though, as like I said I will probably buy more from you once you have the rest posted.

Thread updated - to reflect what's sold, and what's still available.

Cheers

That's fine. Since the laser has not sold yet, I would like to purchase it. Can you PM me your paypal address and the final price for just #12?

^^

*coughs*

Would you like a cough drop? I'm not sure what you're trying to hint here..

PM sent.

You know this is a HOST + HEATSINK and not a "laser" right? :)

Interesting. Can you include some photons in the box to compensate?

Payment received, items packaged, postage printed.

I let a few million photons into the package before I sealed it shut. I'm not sure if they'll still be in there when you open it up though.

my god RHD........
Got enough hosts/heatsinks? It's beginning to look like my spare room in here.....

That's the problem!

I should rename this the "help RHD's home not look like Moh's spare room initiative"

Got those C-mount diode host's today in the mail and got right to trying to get it all to work.

First off....Thank you very much for the extra diodes you sent!! Very kind!

So the host didn't want to take the diode mount because of a small raised rim, after grinding that down I was able to jam it in nicely;)

One of the diode mounts already had a driver on it, so with great haste I screwed in one of the diode, tossed in a battery and shazaam it worked....pretty much. I'm not sure what the driver is for(my wild guess would be an IR diode...).

Unfortunately I don't have any beam pics or even dot pics. The diode is low IR and pretty dim, also the host works off a side button momentary switch.

The host is a nice one, seems sturdy and has a key switch on the rear.
The diode mount is a bit strange though. The only way to mount the diode is the way i'v done it so you have some chance of it being centered in the host. I had to bend the cathode in a "U" to make contact for soldering.

Anyways, it does work. As soon as I get a driver that will work, i'll put one of my 50mW 635nm C-mounts in there and try it again.

PM sent rhd.

I'm a little behind on PMs this week :(

I think you were interested in seeing what they looked like with heatsinks in? They've actually got their heatsinks in in those photos.

not really no biggie, i think i will have a crack at No.9 the Sunwayman V20A with the magnetically variable switch, did some number crunching and it looks like it will drive a mitsu 300mW diode pretty well, can you price me it up with postage to Aus?

Okay RHD and all that may be interested I used the other mount with a 635 or 650nm(not sure which) diode.

The mount fit right into a Romisen RC-A8 host that i'v wanted to use. The switch has a problem and only works as a momentary one right now, but it works!

I used a flex drive that I had around and set it around 750mA...nothing scientific but it worked out.
It's running off a single 16340 battery.
Some pics for fun. The lens is just one I had with no marking on it. It fit nicely over the end for now as somewhat a shield. If anyone has a suggestion for a Single lens that I may use to tame this beast a bit more. I know i'm not going to get a nice clean dot, but a bit less flare would be nice.
Enjoy!
