This is a rebuild using some parts I've reconfigured. I set the flex drive to it's highest output and linked it to the pill with a chunk of copper between. Using a 2 element lens. JST connectors to reduce the amount of times I am soldering on the driver. 26650 cell. Heatsink made by Lifetime17. MX900 flashlight host https://www.ebay.com/itm/331932990025 . Sanwu 3x BE.

Nice, got a question, that mx900 host seems short. Your powering it with one 26650? Didn't know they made the mx900 host in a short version.

Kinda like the looks of the short mx900. :gj:

Ps, always can tell Lifetime's work he always polishes his heat sinks. They look so nice.

Good looking rebuild project dden, I really like those wire connectors, they literally make this a "plug-n-play" unit! :D
That's a nice big copper h.s. from Lifetime 17 you've got on there, ought to give you a decent duty cycle.
:gj:

You said this was a NUGM01 diode. Did you remove the can and the Gball lens, or did you add the 2 element lens to the intact diode? It is a nice looking build. Seems like the divergence is better with the BE attached, but I couldn't see a spot at distance.

Hi D,
Wow nice job really clean reconstruction That 01T shines bright , like the connectors also :gj: you create some awesome builds buddy. +rep..

Rich:)

Added a link to it for ya. The flex drive is a buck/BOOST driver. Could also double up on drivers to get more output. The host easily fits 2 18350's as well. Once upon a time there was a NUBM07 in that host with a heatsink made by EP. Switching it up saves me money and keeps my building

The diode in this build is open canless. I've had it for a few months. I like the green spectrum. I don't need 6w to enjoy it. The 2 element lens just works all around except for reds. I did a 10 minute LPM run to prove stability. You can see the cell wearing down in the chart. 3.3v when I put it back in the charger.

Rich:)

Thanks Rich. I get more kicks doing and sharing the builds than lasing them around. Still pondering the next build. Do I boost or go the Blackbuck 8a route?

Nice ...amazing beam green

Thanks guy.

Thanks! Nice hat!

Very nice idea, i never thought it would be awesome to just use connector from the diode to driver instead of hardwired.

btw did you measure the laser after the BE (by focusing it to LPM) or before BE?

I didn't have the beam expander on for the test. I don't have the needed space set up to do so. I've always assumed that the LPM tests I've seen are only with the focus lens that's why I didn't state it. I should provide clearer details next time. oh yeah I might have suggestions/requests for your Hyperion series I'll post it in the discussion thread.

I see then, i'm asking because i see the power is only 600mW instead of ~1W
i guess you ran with safe current then :D

I always open to suggestion/request,
and if it's doable i'll make sure it happen

The flex drive is operating as a boost driver. So it's double time for the driver to boost the V to the vf of the diode and supply the amps. My intention was to max out the driver so I setup my test to reflect the vf of the diode and adjust the pot to the max it could put out. Wouldn't really matter which vf your shooting for if your just trying to find the max output spot on the potentiometer. It's also an older diode that's seen some use while being buck driven at 1.8a. It put out 800mw with a 2 element lens in that setup. So I'm guessing the boost driver is giving about 1.4a at a vf of around 6v (probably not stating this correctly).

Thanks for the link, dden. Might have to order a couple. Got a few mx900 builds that take two 26650/18650's, but no shorter one. Like the look. :)

Edit, I wonder if the threads are the same, if their interchangeable??

Yes they are. Only diff is the battery tube length. From that seller (disclaimer)

Very nice build buddy awesome, buitifull looking beam too,
I found an Aussie seller of sanwus beam expander witch is cool $80 Aussie dollars isn't to bad,
This guy is a great seller I have bought a nice laser from him before, he also has a US posting!

Oh man now it's saying posting from China I'll have to send him an email!
