Howdy All well I just did a little current test to see what is up with this silicone wire.
it is rated conservitively at 2.2 amps current carring capability by the american wire gauge for it's size.
I however did not believe this and tested it for myself and found it will carry 5 amps no problem, I ran 5 amps of current through a 2" long piece and measured the heat by putting between my lips LOL and while it did get a bit warm at no time did it ever get above body temp so I give this wire my seal of approvel to be used in laser work
I like this wire so much I just went out on a limb and spent over $1000 to bring every one more colors, there will soon be added WHITE, BLUE, & Yellow to the list of colors avable.
Peace All...
Sweeeeeeet.
Great testing methodology.
I would love to see you test a wall outlet.
Just ask my mom, when I was crawling around in dipers at age <1 I picked up a coathanger and stuck it in a wall outlet, well I had a burn mark on the palm of my hand till I was about 14 years old.
So I have tested the wall outlets and they work
plexus should of used this wire
Hey did you hear anything about the smaller wire? Would work awesome in some of the small keychain style builds.
Well I have to say this wire is where its at!
I ordered 20'....Should be enough
The stuff is like Butter!......its very easy to work with and whats great is you can strip it with your fingernail!
Stuff it in an Aixiz!
Cram it in a Pen host!
This will be a requirement for my Apollo host coming from Mohrenberg and any other build from now on!
Come one!
Come All!
Flaminpyro has stock of this now!
He ships quick!
and his prices are very fair!(also threw in a few heat-shrinks for me...thanks Jeff)
All in all, as others have said, this is the only wire to use in your new laser build.
