first laser advise/help..

now then, before i complete my order i need to chose a driver, i couldnt find a faq on the drivers best for the diode i want which one of these two recommended ones is bes Rkcstr's Microdrive or DrLava's Flexdrive

You need a driver that can provide 90-100mA. All of them will tell you the current (thats the mA's) that the driver can provide. You also need to take into consideration the input voltage and voltage drop across the driver. You need your input voltage to be above the sum of the diode's rated forward voltage and the voltage drop of the driver. Therefore you should decide what kind of batteries you want to use before you buy the driver.

AA's ,would that work or do you recommend another type...

Well, you would need to know the forward voltage of the diode and the driver's voltage loss. Than you could figure out how many AA batteries you would need. Each AA is 1.5V.

where do i find the forward voltage of the diode?
What drive can output between 90-110 ma?

a phr needs about 5.5 volts. i believe. but first question is what host are you going to use. that will decide the batteries and driver. bigger hosts with more batteries can do the rkcstr driver. smaller hosts with less batteries will use the lava drive

k so id like to build my first burning laser, so far this is what i have/want to use. 808nm 1000mw 1W burning IR laser diode. USA 3 day ship - eBay (item 270575310098 end time May-16-10 15:37:54 PDT)

whts the best Laser focusing module to use for best results.

where can i get a driver and whats the best drive under 20$ that will give me the best results.

also is there some kind of material that will let me see the dot of the laser?
I highly reccomend a introduce-yourself post in the Welcome forum and plz do your best to find the answers to these questions via the search--btw WELCOME.

ok thank for all your help, yes i will introduce myself to the forums, but after i finish up here :)

k so i have the laser diode that comes with the aixiz modual

i now have a driver, going with the Micro-Drive V3 adjustable driver

power for that driver is maxed at 12v so im gonna use one 12v batt

as for the housing(casing etc) ill make one when i get things working :)

does this all seem like itll work or just blow up in my face? um as for the driver it says adjustable, ive read through the manual of it but wow, um yea ill c to it once there and ill always have you guys :) fr more questions. so if it all seems in working order, i will order everything :)

Yeah, it was weird. When TJ put his post up there the other day about it I went to his site and I was able to get on and order some stuff but then today, no dice. Hope he fixes it soon, I need some more supply, plus I like his prices and free shipping :yh:

You might want to change your financial, and password info. You ordered while it was infected. It's only down now because he is fixing it.

You also need a new AV program, because yours did not catch it. You're more than likely are infected right now.

laser advise/help..

i have an old 1st gen xbox. is it worth extracting the diode from it?
