Hello all,
Thought that I'd finally do a quick introduction.
My name is Chris, and I live in Northern AZ.
Automotive has always been my passion, but electronics, and different science aspects have been right there too. My dad was an electrical engineer, and taught me basic electronics knowledge growing up. Including how to build and set-up computers, and how to read schematics (but that was awhile ago). As soon as I learned about lasers, it interested me. But now as the technology has advanced outside of industrial use, to allow it to be a feasible hobby (both laser output/cost), I thought I'd begin with yet another exciting pastime. I have done a bit of research so far, but I'm far from an expert with this. But safety was a first priority (already own 2 pairs of glasses), and being an owner and user of firearms, the general safety aspect of lasers seams to have a lot in common with gun safety.
I also have access to a lathe, mill, and other basic tools at my job, so now I'm always on the look out for scrap aluminum, and unused/broken flash lights to try and transform into usable hosts, and other parts.
I already have 1 custom host, and am waiting on the second (thanks Ehgemus!). And I look forward to learning a lot from the other members here!
