Those are sweet!

Hey I have a question for you...

What is that one that has a quad reflector set up? And do those type put out more of a 'flood' style? Is my XM-L T6 Mag mod a better thrower that those quad or triple style builds?

:thanks:

If it is a quad xm-l, then yes, much floodier. Your single xml mag will be a better thrower.

Fiddy: those HIDs look sweet when they cool down :-)

Its a Trustfire TR-1200, its got 5x Q5's. I dont know what current each Q5 is pulling but your maglite is better in each respect than that torch.

Just verifying what I have told people about those multi-small reflector type. They have more of a 'flood type' vs throw...

The single reflector build is also better in that it has my custom heatsink to manage the heat better. :)

Hey I got the first 4 Glow-rings you made today!

They are awesome! I love the way they hide in the bezel perfectly. But still give off a nice glow.

:thanks:

Yes, those are 2 of my 4 Mag mod personal XM-L builds...

I have a 5th XM-L build in a custom host that needed that custom sized o-ring that I have not received yet from you. (I know it has already been shipped)

I'll show a picture of it after I get the custom sized Glow ring... :D

Thanks for the killer glow rings!

Far out, if you keep coming up with all these ideas I think I'm gonna have to buy some of this tubing and powder myself (Once I'm not broke ;) )

Jayrob, you ought to make a mag xm-l with one of the easywhite XM-Ls! They come in bins up to U4, but unfortunately they have a much larger emitting area. But working with a mag reflector, it should still be somewhat throwable (most heavy objects are ;-) ). I'm guessing a hotspot would be about twice as wide, ~3 times the area of your standard xm-l mags.

Fiddy, since you are loving all this glow, maybe you should also look up tritium vials. They are relatively easy to integrate into your hosts. The hardest part is milling a well for them. One of my lights has a lanyard slot that was just the rigth size for a vial. I used Norland Optical Adhesive, but this was probably overkill. Now it looks like the vial is suspended in a tiny plate of glass in the lanyard hole.

But yeah, approximate prices are ~8-10USD each from various sellers, so kind of pricy, but it does add a neat element (in several ways ;-) ) to your collectibles.

Edit: just noticed that you are in the land of Oz. There might be shipping restrictions, maybe this wasn't that great of an idea.
