DTR's Laser Shop - Laser Diodes & More

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

You're really charging quite a lot of money for those FlexDrives there... is it because they are out of stock again? :P

These are not bare flexdrives. They are flexdrives that have leads soldered on, range resistors soldered and the current set. The bare drive costs $24 and there are $2 in PP fees on each and it costs $2 to ship it not to mention the occasional dead drivers that I eat. If you take that all into account I don't believe that $5 to $7 is too much to ask for the service if it saves you the hassle of soldering on your driver yourself. If you just want the bare driver see Flaminpryo he has them.;)

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

Oh. Was unaware that they came resistor-less. Fair enough, all is accounted for!

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

They don't come "resistorless" when unset. You have to solder the jumpers on the range resistors to set one of five current ranges.

However, the resistors that are soldered are the size of a pin head; a little too long with the soldering iron, and the resistors unsolder themselves from the board. It's a PITA getting them back in the right place; I would know :whistle: .

That price is is fair for a set-up flex. :)

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

DTR, do you have any of your pressed diodes with the leads attached still in stock?

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

Awesome man Thanks! You can expect an order from on friday then ;)

Would be sooner but I had to buy the ol' lady some tires unexpectedly...

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

I got my diode today and it's getting ready to go into a project tomorrow, Thanks DTR :beer:

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

The few bucks DTR charges to setup your driver,diode per spec is well worth it IMHO. Were all pretty fortunate to have a few resident experts who can offer this level of service, DTR has to be one the best.

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

He's top notch for sure, my diode was all nice and wrapped and had nice silicone leads. :)

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

I am out at the moment. I do plan on getting more but you can get them as fast as I will have them through Kaidomain, DX or Lighthound(us based but expensive) directly.:beer:

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

I think Qumefox was offering them as well with some quality reworking done to them.:beer:

Re: DTR's Laser Shop

:bumpit::bumpit:
Dropped PP for 2 445nm's and a battery.
Thanks for the great deals!:beer::beer:
