My last two dogs were pretty smart and figured out quickly I was the source of the laser dot on the floor, in fact they didn't care. They just absolutely loved chasing it. It got so bad that whenever Mrs. Dual or I would pick up a knife, a fork, the TV remote, or just a pen etc... thinking I had the pointer, they'd perk up and race around looking for the dot, then stand by me and beg me to turn it on when they couldn't find it.

Sounds like they are addicted. :can:

I have 2 dogs, 1 is seriously addicted and when ever pick something up she gets excited the other one could care less and ignores it. My cat attacks my dog when she plays with it. The dog weighs 80lbs. I gets pretty comical at times.
The lobster made me hungry! Looked delicious! Damit go to go eat now!!

Oh they were...

One dog wasn't as bright as the other though. Despite knowing that it was me holding the pointer that made the dot, if you held it still on the floor, he'd do this little pounce, and bash his paws on the floor right by the dot to try and "scare" it back into running/moving again so he could chase it more.

The other dog, she was smarter, and would just look at me, begging me to move the dot again.

Both died young, one of a blood disease, and the other from seizures/brain tumor or something.

Our current dog could not care less about lasers.

I was just watching a couple of laser videos and this came up:

I did a search to see if anyone had posted it already and I found this old thread, so I thought I would post here since this thread also has 2 other very similar videos.

I am not sure if I want to see someone try this with a cat.

Cat for this = teeth, claws and lightning fast!!
I believe for most cats you would need at least one person helping and everyone involved would need to wear serious leather welding or grilling gloves.

I did it with my cat with a 5mw!!! The most fun that cat has ever had. Ide make a vid but coyotes recently got her....

no! just didnt come home one day! Talked to a few neighbors and they said they had just lost like 4 cats in a year!!!
I loved that cat, yet i couldnt keep her away from my lasers.
She got lost one time and she knows the sound of my loud crappy truck, so I slowly drove around the block and sure as shit she lept in front of the car and was soo excited.
didnt work last time :(
RIP Jackle!!
Back to the subject... I would mount the laser to her collar and just let her go play.

I then did it with my russian tortoise, but that was super boring as you can imagine!!

I'm crackin' up :D :D
Sort of like putting a laser on a glacier.

HA! well any time something touches his shell he goes on crack mode! aka cant stop wont stop! so that was at least fun to watch.. but i felt bad, so I took it off!

BTW ... sorry about your cat. Had the same thing happen to a cat here.
It was pure white, woods are green and dark shadows. Poor thing didn't have a chance as it stuck out like a sore thumb.

Have an all white with blue eyes cat that is 17 and acts like she is going to live forever. Can still jump up on counters and loves to be smacked hard over and over on her side while laying down. Can't for the life of me understand the smacking thing. I'm talking about really hard too. My wife saw something about how some cats like it and ever since she tried it the cat begs for it many times through the day. Really kind of grosses me out and I can't bring myself to do it really hard. Maybe it has something to do with digestive system or hair balls. And yes she chases a laser like she's 2.
