DIY laser question

I have been wondering if you could put together a laser like this:

First you have the front end of the module with the diode.No heatsink.Then you have the driver sodered onto the diode.Then you have the other end over the module covering the driver.Next you have the power supply connected to the driver by wires.?

But seriously, It seems like you haven't done any reading around here yet. Try searching the forums, there is allot to learn here.
