Dismantling of green dpss Novalasers-X105

Wow..

Very nice pix.. i was wondering what my nova looked like in pieces but never had the balls to try to take it apart. i have a bad habit of breaking things when i do, so i usually wait until its already broken to do it. I'm glad you posted this

You are right about what you said. It is good to see what's waiting for you if you try to dismantle it before you do :)

AFAIK you just move OC mirror, closer or far to the diode (with coated hybrid cyrstals you move cyrstals, with OC mirror you also have to align the cystals I think) to adjust the power output.
What is the difference between moving hybrid cyrstals (having coated facets) and moving OC mirror?
The length of the laser cavity is determined by the distance between the two mirrors at each end of it. If the mirrors are coatings on each end of the crystal, then it's impossible to change the distance between them or their orientation.. If one (or both) of the mirrors is detached from the crystal then it becomes possible to change the cavity length. Also, at allows for lateral and yaw-type (X,Y) movements of the mirror, which can allow for more precise tuning and higher output if the alignment is done correctly..

Thanks ElektroFreak you're so helpful.
Does it mean that pointers with OC mirrors, have coatings both on cyrstals and OC mirror piece so you can adjust the cavity by moving the OC mirror.

Here it shows the coatings;

THIS PIC IS WRONG, Since when there isint ir before ir filter?
808/1032/532nm leak at apperture, you should know.

The original picture only shows the "working" beams, not the stray beams that don't contribute any more to the lasing process.

I think you mean 1064 :)
And it is strange that 1064 passes through OC mirros even it is HR 1064 coated!
The diagram shows it doesn't so why we need IR filter? :) If it does why the diagram doesn't show it? :-?
