Hey there folks,
My friend is looking for a powerful burning laser, but he has a very tight budget.
UNDER 50 DOLLARS...
He may give a little more if it's worth it.

It doesn't matter wich color (in the visible spectrum of course) and it doesn't matter wich power as long as it's in the burning rode.

And I don't know if I even half to mension it, have it focusable.

THANKS (if you find anything)

I found some really cool invisible (infrared) lasers that will burn really well. Here
Don't forget the safety glasses, or your friend could go blind from using the laser.

well at $50 you still need quality safety glasses so save up

the laser hobby is not cheap if your not willing to spend some money buy a lighter for $1 it will burn better and cheaper and safer..

Click here. Here is a good one. Red was the second burning laser I bought, It's a very fun, reliable laser, but you really should heed the warnings, safety glasses are a must.

Eeeek! Guys, I know you both recommended safety glasses, and I'm really glad you did, but suggesting IR in this situation? Really?

This guy has tons of negative rep for not doing enough research or reading up on his own. He clearly only cares about obtaining a "a powerful burning laser" that is "in the burning rode" All of this, while talking about a really limited budget of < $50.

And the suggestion is a $49.99 infrared laser? To a new user with a horrible track record, who expressly just wants a laser to burn stuff with?

Regardless of the fact that infrared is dangerous period, you've got to know (or at least strongly suspect) that this guy isn't going to drop the $30+ required for infrared laser glasses. Even if the laser was $5, leaving plenty of room in his budget for appropriate glasses, an infrared laser is still an absolutely horrible suggestion given the nature of this OP.

You know what I do with my 1W infrared handheld?

Nothing.

FWIW, I think this was horrible advice.

I really don't care if it's you or your friend. Suggesting an infrared laser to almost anyone is a bad move in my mind.

Given the contents of your post, your track record, and the budget (that would barely even cover IR safety glasses) it's an even worse move.

The budget was for the laser itself, maybe my friend already have safty goggles?
and I didn't ask for IR LASERS!! I said ANY VISIBLE SPECTRUM!

I know you didn't ;) But that's the recommendation you got. That's what I think was ill-advised.

Maybe suggesting a 200mW RED, with accompanying safety glasses would have been different. IR is a different beast, and it's harder to use safely.

True. It is extremely horrible advice. :undecided:
1. The sarcasm didn't come across as I intended
2. I also wanted to see if the OP was paying attention (IR=invisible)

Sorry.

but to be real;
I recommend this 200mW RED laser: link
but, only if the appropriate safety glasses are purchased: link
:yabbem:

Out of curiosity, if you build lasers and he is your friend, why not build one for him yourself?

For now I'm on a tight budget and I'm waiting for parts for tons of lasers, but I build theme in project boxes and my friend wants an easier things to hold and to carry around with no big fat project box. although I think it's cool...

Good question anyway

^^
