Direct Green Laser Diode Technology Progress

That'd be worth spending maybe $400 at most for me right now. That is if the price is around that. Let us know when you find out!

$400 is too steep for just a diode.
For this money I could buy a complete 80mW 473nm handheld laser. :D
Turquoise color is beautiful !!

I got a quote...

At a quantity of 20 peices it would be 300$ each  no warranty either..

Anyone interested?

I don't think you'll have any problems finding enough people. I'll halt my current project to get my hands on one of these for sure...

Oh man, everyday we're getting closer and closer to these! That GB would be crazy! I wouldn't be able to afford it, but I'm dying to know what hosts would become filled with 510nm goodness! It'd really suck if someone killed one. But I'm sure at $300 only serious and skilled builders would attempt it :D

I wouldn't attempt it  I'd just try and make them available :)

What is the specified power output ? And the package is 3.8mm diode as usual ?

50mw of 510nm +-5nm, 3.8mm package.

Exact same diode RHD made a thread on

If anyone is interested I'll try getting a quote for a 25mw 515nm diode. It's 5.6mm & maybe it costs less :D

Not much of a skiller builder but I'm going to try building one. Who knows when another opportunity comes around... I just better not screw up, so I'm going to use my 685's as my test group beforehand... if its the same thing as RHD found then he should be able to help with current "needs" if he hasn't already posted in his review.

IIRC it was being run at 200mA... And output a stable 50mw
