DIODES on SALE!!

It almost looks like the cans themselves are glass. It will be at least a week before I can pop on one

There is a lens , but the can looks like part of the diode back, that shiny top ring is metal around the lens. It's part of the long can that looks like the backing material.

Well they might be available as singles sooner than later, I sent Robinson a message and this what I got back!

Hi Robinson
There is a number of Laser enthusiasts including myself that are willing to buy single NUBMO8 diodes, it's a lot more difficult to organise a group by with people around the world, you would make more money if you sold them individually and I'm sure you will have a bank sold by Monday! You would make a lot of People happy, why don't you just list them individually and see how many bites you get then extract them!

Hello,

Thanks for your information!
Could you please let us know the price range of singple 08' diode we sell is reasonable?

Appreicated your suggestion!

Thanks and regards,
Robinson

This is what they have done in the past anyway, I've bought NUMBO7 of him only to be told waiting on our technicians to extract them, but always come threw in the end.

I think you could stick a Mylar wedge, screwdriver in the gap and pop them loose.

I don't think the cans will come off so easy, but that's ok, a decanning/pipe cutter type tool could cut them dust free after extraction, it looks like better divergence on the emitter end, this could be a leap forward.

I was thinking similar thing when I noticed a thicker can if its part of the 9mm diode a little presure with a pipe on the can and it might snap out easily, if not you will have a canless 9mm!

Looks like you guys kind of have a handle on the big end diodes. Keeping an eye on things here. Thanks to all for putting yourselves out there for the rest of us;)

Jeepers Red. Since Rep had changed about 6 months or so ago you are going to end up at around the 900 mark or even more before you even become a vet lol. If it stayed the way it was I doubt anyone would have hit the 1000 mark for a couple years still. Things sure have changed around here.
It likely doesn't seem like it to you guys since you are into the top output diodes so much but to me it feels kind of sad the way things are now. Like the glory days of the diode has passed and now we are into industrial stuff.

They look like the cans will not come off.

32 watt block of 8 nubm06 = 500.00

36 watt block of 8 nubm08 = 1000.00

NOT A GOOD DEAL and not as useable, these should be the same price.

Yea if they were something special they would let some out cheap then jack the price, they must be no big deal, 36 vs 32w for the whole block and that screwed up can. Who needs them, not me, not at that price.

This shows how the NEC RGB projectors are set up. It's a 5000 lumens high end model.

DRIVER UPDATE: I'll be getting a bunch of the X-Wossee drivers soon. I will post them for sale here when they arrive.

$125 isn't that expensive, there obviously something new and even if they don't perform too much better still a nice addition to add to our collections. I wish he would hurry up and list them as singles.

One other thing I noticed about the NUBM08 is the lenses AR coating is more redish than most coatings for 445nm that are more of a gold color. This is a Gball lens i removed from a 520nm diode and it looks similar.

I am interested in how big the new 520's will be, and the 638's, the 08e if connected to fiber should have better divergence, the lens diameter is smaller but that means nothing about what comes out of the emitter.

I think good things are coming, but these may or may not be it, 36 vs 32 watt blocks are not worth twice the price.

If they are that great then why not sell some at a reasonable price so test results can be seen, then demand will surge.

If these are indeed part of a fiber coupling it would be cool to get the fiber optics. 8 into 1 would be nice.

Yes if the price of 8 diodes is not prohibitive, the despeckler in your diagram suggest single mode diodes, but who knows, in time the prices will come down on everything.
