I just ordered form darklasers yesterday. It wasnt until about 10 minutes after I sent payment on his website with paypal that I realized he had been banned and people have been saying they have problems getting items from him. I ordered a flexdrive. Does he still ship items out? Should I even expect to be getting my driver? Im not sure if I should start a dispute in paypal or not.

I think things might be different coming from his website. Now I still wouldn't trust him, but I don't think he'll scam you on something like a flexdrive. Now he could be selling you a used one or something, who knows, but I bet it gets to you. It's just my thinking that if he only lists one of something, that he probably never meant to sell it in the first place. After all, he wouldn't order 1 flexdrive at a time to sell, but who knows. However, I wouldn't file a paypal claim so soon, you do have 45 days I think to file one.

Dont think you have much to dispute...yet

Just keep your fingers crossed and if nothing turns up, then jump on it.

Yeah i don't think there is much of a paypal claim yet either. I did send him an email asking about 8x diode on wednesday last week through the website but I still havent gotten a response. Not very promising...

Think again. He owes one to robjdixon and clearly stated to rob that he won't be receiving it.
 
Is there anyway I could contact him directly to ask if I will be receiving it?
 
I think daguin or elektrofreak has his phone number. Shoot them a PM.
 
I would wait 10 days (MAX) to see if something shows up...
Then if nothing shows up or shows up not as described or is defective...
immediately open a PayPal Dispute and then immediately
escalate it to a Claim (reason:- You have reason to believe the seller
is fraudulent) and (can't get in contact with seller)..
Explain in the comment that he has already Cheated people out
of money and sold fraudulent items "not as described" or worse..

Don't wait longer than 10 days... the guy is a proven Con Man..

To any other Member on LPF...

Stay Clear Of him at all costs...

Just to throw this out there. I ordered a Jayrob lens from his site a week or so ago and received the lens a few days later.
Also I am not sure how you ordered a Lava drive from the site as it has said SOLD OUT for a few weeks now. Perhaps you were still able to place the order regardless of the "SOLD OUT" button on the sale page.

Man.... after all that happened on the Forum with Tyler ripping
members off... you still decided to throw money at him....:eek:

I didn't loose one cent with him... but he is Black-Balled as far as
I'm concerned....:cool:

OUch! I saw it on his site for $37 so I could not resist. Plus I purchased lots of stuff from his website before he had any problems with any other members and I never had any trouble.

Tyler has an interesting psyche. If he perceives you as a friend or supporter, he performs at a certain level. In this instance, Yobresal has said nice tings about him, so Tyler performs. In another instance Tyler completely refused to deliver by reasoning that the other member said bad things about him and voted to ban him. If he doesn't "know" you, then you are a ripe plum to be plucked.

He and I were talking about this lens before I decided to put him on lock down. I'm glad it went to a good member.
