Rig: QX9770 3.2ghz @ 3.6ghz / 8GB DDR3-1600 / 2x 250GB SSD Drives in Raid 0 / Water Cooled / 40c under full load of intel TAT /
Old rig: e4300 1.8Ghz @ 3.2Ghz via Tuniq Tower 120. Highest non-stable OC was 3.42Ghz.
New Rig: Q6600 2.4Ghz @ 2.8Ghz (Havn't messed with the OC to try the max yet. I just set it at 2.8Ghz the day I got it, because I kenw it could do it very easily.) Running an OCZ Vendetta 2 heatsink.
Is it strange that I am an Intel fan for CPUs and a AMD fan for graphics cards? Nvidea has screwed me over time and time again. Shoot one of their graphics cards managed to fry my north bridge after I set it up in SLI. I will never by Nvidea ever again.
Oh yeah, Nice birds.
I guess it just depends on the series, for example the 3XXX and 2XXX series from ATI were a big failure compared to the 4XXX series which are freaking awesome...
Intel procs. are the best. The main difference in OC is that AMD pushes their procs. too much and leave it almost on the limit, that's why you can only get 200mHz more out of them. Intel sets them at half the frequency of the maximum they can achieve, that's why you can get around 2GHz more out of Intel procs.
