I've not tried for green, but I've gotten the others with a tuning prism. I don't have the optimal mirror curvatures for it sadly to make a really good attempt though due to how long the tube is.

Have you tried an etalon, Matt? Sometimes you can tune the tube very well using one. You might even get by with using a microscope slide as an etalon. You can adjust the distance between the faces by tilting the slide. Just a thought.

Going for green in a non-green is certainly labor-intensive. Although I've managed to pull yellow + red simultaneously with green out of a green REO LHG0500. My old rasta tube..

Let’s see red yellow and green. Steve pulled that off plus Ir all at the same time in my kitchen. Actually it was like 12 lines at once.

It's good to see you around again Bloom. I feel like I'm the only gas dude left alot of the time. WB.

It's certainly doable. Just not easy nor likely....but it can certainly be done if there is enough gain available. It would likely call for some special mirrors with carefully selected/'oops' coatings though, and all the lines would likely be very unstable as they compete. You'd have more luck with a laser with a very wide bore.

So much kindess in one place...

I had a decent ML HeNe produced by REO that did something like 7-8 lines between 604-652.5, but they're known to also do IR as well, I just never noted it.

It's good to be back, I need to get back into my hobbies, and I have a desk and all of my equipment in my new house just kinda collecting dust. It's high-time I got back into my hands-on cavity research. I'm getting started again in November, I'm greatly looking forward to it!

My current record is 18 lines, IR, Red, Orange, Yellow, Raman Red, Raman Orange, and 4 wave mixing lines from one VERY HEALTHY three mirror REO particle analyzer cavity. Getting precious access to a FFT based spectrum analyzer that covered 550 to 1.8 um in one swoop was the trick. I changed the external rear mirror to do it. It is not the coating so much as the surface roughness of the mirror. Anything less then a super-polished mirror and you'll be lucky to do the three main high gain lines...

The good news is I tracked down the now semi-retired designer of the 609 capable mirror set. Contrary to what we told by REO management at one time, he is alive and well. His new business partner is trying to get us a reply about the story behind 609 and the other REO multi-line sets. The bad news is he has not replied yet. They said give him a few days, he's designing a new cavity for some one and does not want to be disturbed.

I also picked up a linear shit ton of REO developmental mirrors from an Estate Sale on Ebay.
About twenty boxes of various multi-line hene developmental mirrors. FUN.
I picked what looked to be winners from the package codes and made up a box for DZ. I fear many of the have radius that are too short for 124,127, however.

I look forward to any information you can get when you hear back from that guy, Steve.
