Computer processor

I can vouch for Newegg, I've used them for years and still do occasionally..

I ordered the motherboard and CPU just now and I'm getting ram from a friend :)

Now hopefully I don't blow my computer up while swapping the boards and CPU's...

Remember to ground yourself before touching the electronics. A little static and things can get ruined.

Changed the parts put the new processor in and I also upped the ram and it's so much faster now it works great again I also installed windows 7 ultimate fresh and it's good as new.

Thanks for everyone's help :)

The next step in making your system real nice is to get an SSD. They're awesome upgrades that really make your system fly as the disk IO is the slowest component in your machine.

I don't know how good this is but it boots in 12 seconds :) my old one was about a minute :p

Then again I have a friend with a SSD and it boots in 2 - 3 seconds :)
I'm satisfied with what I have and I'm not a super power user but every now and then a small upgrade is nice :)

Well the booting is nice, but that's usually most useful for laptops. For desktops, the SSD improves program and data loading time which I like. I'd definitely say that the SSD is a nice thing to have on a desktop, but critical for a laptop.

Mine boots (after POST) in round about 6 seconds (to useable desktop).

Win7 HP x64 , 256gb SSD, 16gb DDR3 , core i5 4300k O/C'd to 4.6Ghz :)

That's a pretty good overclock :) I'm not gonna overclock till it starts slowing down though as I have no use for the extra speed now. It's just really aggravating when Internet doesn't respond 80% of the time on my old setup :p

But yours is is definelty good for just about anything you can throw at it :)
