Community Focus Knob - Group Buy - 2 packs left

Someone call e-machineshop, explain the circumstances and hopefully they will tell you if an order was actually placed at all.

If no order was actually placed start the chargebacks.

Why would one want so many focus adapters? Surely they can't expect to sell them here under a different name. I would think it would be difficult to sell them anywhere else...

I will do this first thing monday. I was planning on calling about a different order anyways.

That's why I'm confused.

Based on his post in an earlier thread where he pasted in the emachineshop status, he at least knew what their status emails looked like. So there must have been an order... I'm puzzled.

It'd be fairly easy to place an order wait for the first status email and confirmation emails etc etc and just cancel it

RHD. Since you've done business with emachine shop in the past, maybe you could talk to them. Explain the situation of the GB and our predicament?

I'd be happy to - but it would be wise to have someone else give this a shot first. I'm PST timezone, and work pretty typically until 6 or 7pm (which is 9 or 10pm in New Jersey where they're located). It's going to be pretty tough for me to get them on the phone unless they answer on weekends.

I can give it a shot before work around 6am (9am New Jersey), but if I get put on hold, or have to leave a message and get called back, it would be tough for me to find an opportunity to take the call at work.

The other thought, if it really comes down to it, would be to have BH (who is in the same region as Stevie) initiate a small claims proceeding. We might be able to assign our rights under the transaction with Stevie, to BH. Then, potentially, BH could claim in small claims against Stevie for the full GB funds. Generally there are no legal fees, or court costs in small claims, and this type of proceeding could work well for something like this < $1,000. Of course, we'd need to trust BH ;) (I do)

^ This is entirely speculation, and doesn't reflect any actual knowledge of the applicable law, nor should it be taken as advice.

I was doing a lot of reading avout this last night and thought that was our best bet as last resort if we can't get ahold of him. I am trying to get ahold of my hockey coach fir advice as he is a lawer.

Via PM and various chats, I know that a number of people in this thread are trying a few different approaches to try and resolve this issue. Hopefully, one of the approaches that has been discussed (either here, or in private) will have some success.

On my end, I'm going to look into land titles registry in Stevie's region. I'm familiar with the systems in Canada, but not the US, so it may take me a few days. At any rate, I'm going to lookup ownership info on Stevie's address. This is public record information. It is likely that I'll either be able to get the information about his parents (if they are owners) or his landlord (if he is a tenant).

One way or another, I'm hopeful that whatever contact I net from the search above, will be able to provide me with an update on Stevie's whereabouts and health. I know he mentioned that he has just moved, but that shouldn't be a problem, as land title registry usually maintains decades of history.

If the address is owned by a parent, there may even be some work/employment phone numbers for them recorded in connection with a mortgage (if there is one) registered against title. Even if not, we can probably figure out a phone number based on their names. And of course, if it's a landlord renting the premises, they may be able to help me get in touch with someone other than Stevie who would be able to fill us in as to his health and status.

One way or another, we've got a lot of collective brainpower here, and a lot of knowledge that we can communally throw at the task of figuring out where Stevie is, and how he's doing health-wise / life-wise.

We just need to stay persistent. Hopefully all is well with Stevie, and this is just the result of some little life-hiccup.

To clarify - this above is just the approach I'm going to take personally. I've heard some other creative ideas too, and I think we should go forward with all the options we have. Just because I'm going to investigate this approach, doesn't mean that anyone else should forgo the route they've decided to take.

Good ideas rhd, I was in contact with my local police department today and they explained the process i should take. They said I should call the police department and file a frad claim. They said once this is done and they have all the nessesary information on him they will do a full investigation and get back to me. I will be calling tomorrow afternoon and filing this claim. I will try to contact him one more time tomorrow before i proceed with this. Please let me know if any of you think this is the wrong thing to do.

I hope Stevie makes up for this :/

It would be pretty sad to see a member like him go to waste....

People do stupid stuff for money...

Some people in the world these days disgust me...

Im not assuming Stevie is a scammer, but whats left to assume when no one can contact him?

What was the last time someone had actual contact
with steviedezie...
It seems he was last on the forum on July 04 at 1:46AM..
Maybe he is not able to respond...

I know we are not supposed to share PMs but this seems like a situation in which it might be important. Legal action is being discussed.

I have a host of his that I am working on a heatsink for and this was a correspondence I got from him about what kind of time frame he needed. (June 30th)

hey brad, to be honest, i havent been on the forum at all in about 9 days. I just got discharged from the hospital yesterday from an accident that occurred while i was moving houses... i now am in a wheelchair and got 3 metal pins sticking out of my foot. i was fixing the garage door when the chain broke and the door fell onto my foot... i dont think i am in any hurry so take your time.

Now I am not saying that everything is fine. I have no idea. But I hope this might make the situation a bit more clear. This was an email about an entirely different transaction and if he was going to just disappear you would think he would have wanted the host ASAP. Just speculation though. I have not talked to him since.

I also received a pm from him on the 1st apologizing for and explaining the delay for my g2 lens which was off centered that I had to send back to him. I'm in for almost $80 but it seems to me he's just going through something right now. It does suck how fast this GB was going at first and then to hit a brick wall though.
