Everyone says it looks crappy and everything, but this is why these dont cost 10,000 bucks like they would from coherent or melles griot etc etc. If they machined every single laser to where the components would bolt together and be in perfect alignment (so they wouldn't use glue) it would be VERY time consuming and MUCH MUCH MUCH more expensive.
They use a lot of precision micrometer adjustable mounts to align the components (yag, LBO (or bbo or bibo), and output coupler) and then once it's lasing they glue the whole thing and let it dry. They then take it out of the mounts and you have your optical cavity aligned and bonded. It doesn't look the greatest but it WORKS and it keeps the costs down. Like I said, if everything were as 'pretty' inside as we all want it to be, these lasers would be thousands and thousands of dollars. This allows them to mass produce the mounts and then do fine adjustments and use glue to hold them, rather than making individual precision mounts like the expensive american companies do.
