CNI GB #12 (Fast as we can do it!)

Yeah, I used to have a PGL III -C - 593.5nm /5 mW that would do near 10mW but no more :cryyy: -GH

^ If you guys are just interested in haing the 593.5nm wavelength, you might go with the 5mW GLP. Would cost you not more than $300. But keep in mind, with the PGLs there is a higher "risk" that the lasers are very overspec ;)

Well, yes the GLP is lower cost, but in my experience, the PGL III -C - 593.5 is more output and more over spec... one member got the PGL III -M- 589nm and it was only nearly spec btw -Glenn

As Glenn told, the PGL-III-C are all overspec - they have the biggest space for conducting away the heat.
I personally don´t like the big host, this is why I decided to go with the PGL-III-A for my 589nm.
The unique colors in the GLP hosts (473nm, 589nm, 593.5nm) are less expensive (most of the time), but the chance that they are VERY overspec is very small.

Hope this helps people a bit who are interested in joinging this CNI GB!

Hmm, seems I missed DJNY's response... Personally, I prefer the larger host and head size, especially for the higher powered lasers. More metal to conduct heat away, plus the larger size helps me and other people know we're working with a serious laser. Definitely not as convenient though.

I agree, when it will preform as I like, the smaller the host the more I like it... That said, I would also favor a bit larger if more battery is needed like the power thirsty 1W+ 445 lasers, but if the h.s. and battery suffice, keeping it small is an awesome choice imho. -Glenn

I want to make the order on this one, but so far, ...there is only 3 lasers, so let's tell all those who may be interested! ;) -GH

Glenn-
It looks like cmak may have his 589 close to sold (unfortunately before the few lasers I'm hoping to sell to raise the funds have sold). If this GB order isn't already in once that happens, I'd like to jump on for a 589.

It's likely that the 0.6-1mw GLP is all I could manage. But let me ask your opinion - in the event that I could hit that ~$470 threshold, what would be the most intelligent move between: ?

GLP-589nm 2mW/Unit $465
PGL III-M- 589nm 5mW $477 NEW PRICE!
PGL III-C- 593.5nm 5mW $475 NEW PRICE!

I would say the PGL III -C- 589... many of these were 4 to 10X spec... I can not guarantee the output of the next ones, but the PGL III C always seems to do best -GH

No kidding!

It's what I feel I'm lacking :) My psyche will be calm and settled once I can look at a 589 yellow beam balancing the cold blueness of my rainbow.

Perhaps also a 473... and for that matter, I definitely need a proper 635 pronto ;)
And I'm really tempted by the PGL-RB-655.... magenta from CNI? Awesome. Pretty good prices for those from what I've seen too.

Did we actually get prices on those yet? I'd be interested in an RB as well..

I inquired myself recently. They range in price. 447 is more expensive than 405, and 640 is more expensive than 655. I forget the prices off hand - but I remember them being somewhere around 2 to 3 hundred dollars.

PGL-RB-640nm/447nm-100mW/Unit USD450.00

PGL-RB-640nm/447nm-200mW/Unit USD500.00

PGL-RB-655nm/447nm-100mW/Unit USD310.00

PGL-RB-655nm/447nm-200mW/Unit USD350.00

Here are my GB prices for the new units, Also posted in the 1st post of this thread;
The new two in one lasers that when both are on make a third apparent color:
PGL-RB-640nm
150mW $410
200mW $465
300mW $475
PGL-RG-655nm
150mW $265
200mW $275
250mW $288
PGL-RV-655nm
150mW $265
200mW $275
