CNI GB #12 (Fast as we can do it!)

Well I rigged up a thingy (ok a bent piece of waire;)) to let me test my laser and it still works. I tested it down to 2.4v and it was still lasing drawing a steady .84A so I'm guessing the CR2 battery I have even though it's at 2.75v can't supply the current. I'm still going to grab another CR2 and make sure before deciding to send it back. Guess I have a couple days to decide since it'll take a week or so for eythxhs's to arrive from Greece.

Ok stupid question time. I assume the switch on these is supposed to be a push button momentary switch right? If I send it back any idea how long it'll take to have them repair it? I know others have waited much longer than I did to get their lasers but it kinda annoys me that the whole thing should have been caught in testing especially when these cost what they do.

Yeah, as you say, the cost kind of seem a suggestion more QC s/b of high standard. ;) -Glenn

I fear that my GLP 473nm is gonna have the same under-spec fate with the way things have been turning out

Lets take one unit at a time... I need the s/n and it sent to me ASAP... I think the QC is going poorly lately, but I also get some good units as well. -No plans for another GB atm... -GH

Hi

Just received my laser 473nm 80mw a few days ago, been out of town for a while so maybe it has been sitting in the P.O.Box a little longer..
It looks like a wery solid build. Just metered it today after fresch charge. Slow warm up, hits 30mw after 30 sec. 57mw at 45 sec, sitting there for a few sec. before it goes down to 46mv at 62 sec. then it start to climp to 85mw at 85 sec. and sitting about that number for 15 sec. more. then it goes quite fast up til it peaks at 123mw about the 2 minute mark, from there it begins to climp down in 10 sec.

This was tested with a usb laserbee, and a new unknown battery from Jetlaser.
Don't really know what to think of these numbers, but defenitely overspec, would like to know the recommended duty cycle, but it barely gets warm after about 2,5 min..

Yes generally the slower warm up unit will hit some pretty high numbers, that said, don't we all wish the portables were more stable at high output? I have a portable that sometimes touches 105 mW and others hits 120 of 473nm goodness, but only for about a minute and a half, then it starts dropping. I think it is best to rest the laser for a bit when output drops. If it doesn't drop, then I would still stay below ~15 min. as this seems to be working w/ my Viasho that does about 25-30 peak after a long warm-up. AMB! -Glenn

Hi Glenn. What’s the word on my GLP 473nm? I think I’m gonna wait another 2 weeks and if it isn’t here or en route then I want my money back. I will not wait any longer it’s been 6 months since I’ve paid upfront and I’ve run out of patience. I’m not impressed over the lack of communication since I have to keep asking over and over again on the status of the order, when its coming, why isn’t it here, etc.

Chill out. Glenn has run a bunch of these, and you will get a laser.

You also allowed him a grand total of 6 hours for him to respond; between 6AM and noon for him. Give him time.

If you're not willing to take the risk of waiting, don't commit to a GB.

-Trevor

Don't tell me to chill out. I'm getting flack for expressing my concern after having to wait 6 months with barely any communication? And I was willing to wait like I have been for the last 6 months. I've been told over and over and over again that I would get it at such and such time and still nothing. Never any updates either. Its my money that I paid and I feel like I'm entitled to a little feedback now and then. How do you expect me to feel? Give me a break I'm just frustrated.
