!CLOSED!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

That's still overspec and plain awesome. I know my 300mW(we shall see what it really is) beam is spectacular so that 800mW beam must be just incredible.

~$330 I forget the exact cost.

grrrrrrrrrr.... stupid Illinois holding my LPM for two days

I feel the same way. I paid for express shipping ($30) for something and I wasnt there to sign for it yesterday. Could've used free shipping instead

Any idea how to open this gift laser ? The front cap seems to have thread lock glue or something.

I measured 230mA at the tailcap so this laser is underperforming big time.

I also tried to open mine, it seemed impossible to open. So yes i also think it is thread locked.. I have no idea how to open it..

Greetings,,

Probably if it's just glue then the glue would break when opening it by force? Maybe Skylasers didn't want you guys to potmod these lasers :P

Blord, next time I come by for something you HAVE to show me your 532nm in person. Looks kick ass :D

I wish someone into lasers lived near me that I could chill with and work on designs/builds with. Unfortunately none of my friends know nearly enough about lasers to work with me on them and I am the most electrical proficient of the bunch as well...

^ I feel you there. I've got this one friend that thinks he wants to get into lasers so I told him to read read and read so more then we can talk.

So tonight I finally properly LPMed my two new Skylasers. While at it, I also LPMed my old one.

The old one, labeled as 100mW, peaks at 200mW, and is stable around 170mW.

The 150mW that I picked up in this GB peaks at 300mW, and is stable at around 270mW.

The 300mW peaks at........ 635mW  It falls of quickly I suspect more so from the battery, and slowly declines over three minutes to about 450mW.

Absolutely spectacular results as far as I'm concerned. My only with is that there was a day to adopt these hosts to run off of larger 18650 batteries... (take a wild guess what I'm ordering next time :p).

635mW! :O! And I thought that mine was very overspec :D They stabilize on about the same mW though :)

Same here. I have a friend who is into electronics, robotics, and such, but he doesn't know that much about lasers. He has a 100mW 532nm from Lazerer.com, but he's not nearly as enthused about them as me. If there was some sort of meetup nearby, I'd be all over it. Perhaps a laser dating service? "Hot engineer seeks sexy amateurs to make lasers with. Looking for someone who isn't afraid to get steamy for more visible beams. For a good time and colorful, coherent light, call 555-LAZR."

I legitimately laughed out loud at that one XD

BTW, tested my 300mW 532nm out at 324mW peak and about 250mW stable. Its not quite as high as I was hoping but not bad overall.
