CLOSED: Projector - $55 9mm 445nm diodes (0 remaining)

I got your PM, thanks.

I'll make the payment this afternoon if you can confirm that these diodes, lenses, modules, and lens holders are identical to what DTR is selling at his shop.

Thanks for all your hard work!

I can confirm that the diodes, lenses, modules, lens holders are identical to the ones sold in DTR's shop. What, does the group buy cost seem too low to you? If you want I can increase the cost of the group buy so it doesn't feel so cheap

Edit: Also happy 2 year join date-iversary.

Payment sent, thank you for the GB.

I'll be eagerly waiting for the diodes. :)

All payments in <24 hours   thanks guys!

Awesome news!!! This GB is moving forward nicely.
Now I need to find a good driver and host to use this bad boy in.
What are all you GB 'er going to build with your 445 diode (s)???

I plan on putting one in a C8 host (once I can find the correct sized host to fit the heatsink:)) and the other in a Kryton groove.

I got a Kryton smoothie that had a blue ray diode build (diode now dead).
Are you going to mount just the diode in the kryton or whole diode module?

I'm going to build a heat sink out of copper and aluminum that the diode will press directly into (no module). Also want to fabricate a sliding focusing mechanism for the lens. Haven't decided on a host or driver yet.

I am torn between putting in a pointer host or making a beamtable labby with it.

Thinking of an MS-V5 from sinner, already got a Cypreus for one of them though.

Oh man Commandr, that table and stuff looks like fun, fun, fun. I can't imagine what that table weighs. Looks like 1/2" (maybe more?) steel there with the hole grid.

I got mine from Moh's GB, the diode goes in directly, so it does not need a module.

Flaminpyro is making a heatsink for a host I have, and I'll be running it off one 16650 via lazerers SXB-v2 drive. Woo!

That's the "small beam table I use to test out some of my harebrained schemes and ideas.
The main beam table (pictured) is made from 3/8 inch aluminium plate with 1/4-20 tapped holes 1 inch on center. (my arm still hurts from tapping :>)

The electronics on the table is a SVS laser light show that ran many moons ago.
The kit from 1993 used a scanner built a with rare earth magnets and a simple flag on each motor that was an IR emitter/receiver for closed loop 'PID control' position feedback.
But looking back on the schematic now we realize each axis was only 2 bits and the DAC was designed using NAND gates! . Frequency response was slow with a max deflection
angle of 16 degrees but it actually did draw some animations when set up with patience (required an o'scope to balance the amp). And when the feedback signal faulted due to
ambient light sometimes the motor would run away ejecting the first surface mirror from the shaft....

Enjoy the pics (pardon the dust)

Gary

I'll try to have everything sent out hopefully by the end of next week if everything arrives this week, that aspect is out of my control. I'd tell you all to please be patient, but I sure as hell know I wouldn't be :yh:
