Is the seller holokid ?
If so he is selling the pl530 for 45.00 which is way too much as we have to make a driver that also regulated the heater, also for these RGB he is only asking 5 dollars more, of course by now they should be using a direct green but I digress, I would rather have the RGB modules if he has more and would do a GB

Holokid bought those RGB modules from Wes when he was selling them cheap, I’d like a couple of those too but when I asked how well the beams stay together at distace from his response I assume he didn’t know or hasn’t yet checked, I need to ask again to get to the bottom of it.

I also asked if there is any kind of beam adjustment and didn’t get that sorted out either. I can’t see how the beams can be mechanically centered, anyone know if that adjustment can be made? For pointer use these modules might not be very suitable for us, if no adjustment.

It does seem strange to have an RGB module with direct to wavelength diodes for all but green, but not sure which direct colors were available at a reasonable price first, and these are old stock.

So when do we pay and get shipped to? April? I have the rgb. It’s not adjustable and the beams do not match well.

Junk. Not worth it. These greens are great for holography. The beams are amazingly clean. They diverge like a flashlight however. I used a g2 and it was barely ok. But clean beam. Also they are really temp sensitive. Heatsink or forget it.

800mA is waaaay overdriving one of those. Datasheet spec is 480mA. Wouldn't drive the heater constant current either seeing as it's a resistive load.

I guess you mean it's a waste to use a constant current driver for the heater? I would agree.

Not so much a waste seeing as an LM317 in constant current configuration uses less components than in constant voltage, it's just not required like it is for a diode. Mine really didn't seem that sensitive to adjustments anyway, takes a couple seconds to stabilize and then is ,to the eye, very stable.

Sounds good. Looking forward to getting them. Just had not heard for a while. You travel more in a month than I do in a lifetime.

I’m back in Qatar, the shipment I received was not properly packed, all of the modules dumped into a static protected bag loose and rolled, taped and put in a soft envelope. Many have broken heatsink substrates, they are made of silicone, not metal as they appear and are subject to damage if treated that way.

When I sort out the damaged ones I will ship, please PM me if you still want the undamaged ones and your shipping info.

The guy really couldn't bother with the tray they came in when he bought them?!?!?!?!?

{insert assorted profanity here}

Well, I was in for three. At this price I'm still willing to roll the dice. PM sent.
