Yeah I've already seen that tutorial but thanks for the link. I was more looking for a tutorial for the original heatsink rather than the full body one but utilizing a flexdrive rather than the stock driver. This would be for a red build btw

If you will be adding a Flex-Drive, you will definitely need to remove the stock-driver in the pill that is pressed into the battery-tube, (or at least disable it, see below).

In my last few DJR-builds, I have removed the stock-driver board and removed all of the components from the board and replaced it in the pill. This way the spring coming from the FD "+" can rest against the old-driver-board instead of directly against the top of the battery. The battery in turn now pushes against the contact-board instead of directly against the spring that is connected to your FD and diode, less stress.

Also, if you are using the DJR Full-body heatsink, the little black-plastic cover for the stock-driver pill, will fit perfectly into the back of the Full-Body heatsink to help support the spring and close-out the back of the heatsink. It was designed for this option.

You must make sure that when the head is screwed-on, the back of the heatsink touches the top of the battery-tube, or aluminum-pill if you opted to reinstall it. The heatsink will fit either-way, but if your spring is too long, it can prevent this contact, which is the "negative-path" from the battery. This contact can be easily checked by setting the completed laser/heatsink on top of your battery-tube and checking that there is contact for the spring, but no gaps where the HS touches the battery-tube, (or pill).

im actually going to be using the heatsink for the silverbody host. like the one used for the tutorial.

I should mention, this one was a "silverbody host", like in the tutorial. I did a custom anodizing-job with my daugther for this one. It has a PHR turned down to 40mW.
