haha, just get your room painted pink! ^^
my room is kind of an "olive" color, so my 100mw 405 is really dim and violate on it
but when i point it to my white jacket hanging on the wall, it goes BOOM and the brightness doubles and the color is now blue
i tell my friends that my jacket is magical

Duck tape and Duct tape are the same products. most people refer to Duck tape that way because it is the most common name as well as the name of the company that makes it. soo any generic brand of "Duck Tape" will be labeled "Duct Tape" because calling it "Duck Tape" would be copyright infringement.

"Duck tape" is just another marketing scam to sell a crap product, and most people are to stupid to realize there is a big difference between the two. Ironically neither can be used to tape ducts.

You can use it for cold air applications, but you need to use foil tape for any hot applications. Duct tape can be a fire hazard, thats why they dont use it for heating ducts.

Everyone should have a role of real duct tape in their emergency kits.

This happens to me when pointed at some red string I have, it seems it has to do with the dies more then the color, because if you take a picture of something like the duct tape, print it out, and shine a laser on it, it wont change colors (at least for me)

Hey, noobs.
It's called fluorescence. It's science, not magic.

Never heard of it? It's the same thing that that happens when you observe your white t-shirt glowing blue under a "blacklight."
Nothing new.

The laser light does not change wavelength. The fluorescence you see is the light emitted by the dye in the tape.
You can experiment with this by mixing a small amount of pink hi-lighter fluid into a clear container of water. When the laser beam is shone through it, the dye in the water will fluoresce but the beam will exit the glass and still be green.

The reason a printed picture of fluorescent materials doesn't fluoresce is that the ink in your printer is not fluorescent (or at least it does not fluoresce in the visible spectrum).

Shorter, more energetic wavelengths can cause many more materials to fluoresce in the visible spectrum.
For example, here is a 445nm laser beam expanded and shone on a dandelion leaf:


The picture was taken through a pair of safety goggles that filter out 405-445nm light.
