WHERE DID HE GET THE LED's?

Every phlatlight led i've seen costs roughly $200. Each!

dave sold the red ones out of the casio projector for $25 a piece...

i was referring to the price for the phatlight led out of the casio projector, $200 is incorrect.

I'm guessing you've tried (and failed) asking for samples?

I wouldn't even try and contact Luminus to get samples. I tried going through Avnet, a licensed North American distributor for Luminus, and what I could find was really, really expensive. The 4500 lumen white LED was $160 on it's own. The PhlatLight colored LEDs were designed for projectors and stuff, so I would imagine that they are even more. I could only find a few colored regular Luminus LEDs on Avnet, and they were $40-50 each.

I got them stright from a Phlatlight distributer, we go through a million led's a year here and it's not to hard for me to get samples of most any thing I need or want

Technically, yes (they are LEDs, after all ) ..... but, for the light intensity (that can easily blind you if focused), probably they are a bit on the edge .....
