Cheap 6x sled ??????






4x and some phr's are about the same 4x's are more consistant than the phr 803's though
 
Not 100% sure, but i remember these H10L sleds seen in another seller page (that i don't recall at the moment), and they was stating clearly them as "4X BR sleds"
 
They are 4X sleds. The violet diode in them is good for up to about 150mW.

Seems pricey then. You could buy FOUR PHR's for that much at a good price, and maybe even have some change left over! ;)

Maybe, but they were the step in between PHR's and 6X.

PHR = 110mW
4X = 150mW
6X = 200mW
(all approximations with aiXiz acrylic lens: YMMV)

Sorry, been up late...eyes getting blurry - thought you said 150ma.

Anyway, still seems like a pretty steep price increase for such a modest improvement in power - especially considering what you can get now with an 8x!

(Like that monster Class 4 of yours...I think it can do just a "tad" over 150mw! ;))

BTW - thinking about being same price as 4 PHRs - just made me think of something. Could you combine the beams of two cross-polarized PHRs through a cube to get 220mw+ of violet?

Nah, I don't mean like a "make your own yellow". I meant that as cheap as PHR's are, perhaps a cheap alternative to a 6x?

(Or perhaps get two "freak" 8X's, and get 1 Watt of violet goodness!)

Wonder what kind of cool effects you might get though, if you used two PHRs on opposite ends of their wavelength range...multi-spectral violet, hmm, something perhaps to add to my "to-do" experimentation list...

Anyways, my mind is wandering, so I think I need to get some much-needed sleep! :tired:
 
I sell 4x diodes pretty cheap... didnt know if anyone was looking for one.

But Dave had it right. 4x = 150mW'ISH give or take.

It was the step between PHR and 6x, so it has to be better.

Now we need to find out if SF's are really 4x's in disguise or not...
