G'day,

Stumbled across these while surfing for TO-3 diodes.

Here's one from a different company: Thermoelectric Modules - Special Design Peltier Coolers

These would be great even for the smallest of builds.

What do you think?

Looks interesting as long as the tec doesnt bridge the pins on the diode...Also it might be an idea to make new modules where the diode sits perfectly flush in them, to maximise contact with the tec and diode/module?

Yea, I seen these months ago, problem is for the small one pictured with the diode it's performance is not really worth using in our builds and while I was looking the cheapest price I've seen was 35.00. I had the idea to get some rectangle one's and make a square around the diode. The performance of those combined would work out nicely.

I have seen the second one but the first is new. That must be a very small tec if I look at the diode.

I'd just rather have more metal in contact with the back of the diode, not a heat-generating TEC that would need its back-side to be isolated from the mount the diode is attached to.

This is why I like those aluminum modules leave them on and you get some benefit I'm sure I'll cut some groove in one see how that works.

Also, I think the heat generated by a high power diode would instantly overwhelm the cooling capabilites of such a tiny TEC.

Yeah, these TEC's are mainly designed for lower power diodes to keep their stability, wouldn't work for the high powered diodes.

Still a cool find though :)
