CANCELED FEELER: XPL Lasers (LPF 15% discount instead)

Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc)

Update: Apparently with the new host they are going to be using a single 3v 18650 size battery. This should make it more compact and cheaper to ship. Does anyone here know of any place to get batteries of this type?

Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc)

Can you confirm it's a LiFePO4 batt? If it is that's great news!

You can get them on FastTech: https://www.fasttech.com/category/1420/batteries?f=MTI0PUxpRmVQTzQ&sort=r&

It is NOT a LiFePO4 battery. Peng told me he is testing various types of batteries. We'll know more once the new host gets closer to release.

Edit: It does seem odd though. LiFePO4 is the only 18650 battery type I know of that can get near 3V. What else could it be?

Is it a LiFePO4 at 3.2V? Plenty options, but it'd be a bit more than 3V.

Edit: Has to be LiFePO4 unless we're talking a non-rechargeable battery.

Still, I don't understand why a LiFePO4 battery would be beneficial for this. 3.2v and 3.7v is not a huge difference, and LiFePO4 have only about a third of the capacity that normal Li-ions do!

A lot of the common high power IR drivers max out at 4V or 3.6V, so a fully charged Li-ion would fry them.

Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc)

If it isn't LiFePO4 it has to be a primary batt and that would be very bad design.

I really hope it's LiFePO4 or that they find a proper driver that can handle a regular Li-ion.

Honestly, it probably will be a LiFePO4. There's zero chance that they will go with non-rechargeables.

Magenta?!? Cooool. So wish I had money for this, but recently bought some equipment. I'll be checking in to see how it's going though. :D

Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc)

I notice there is a difference in looks between the RG:Y 100mW and 200mW, yet some of the images are the same between them. What does each of these look like? Is there a difference in the host style? I definitely want one, but I'm not sure which until I know the difference.

They are the same host. :)

I have not posted in this thread and wanted to confirm my 60.00 for 20mw Yellow RG:Y
Host color if possible - Black - or Yellow

Already put you on the list. :)

Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc)

Ah, I see. So, it rotates, the head does. One of the rotation settings is the diffraction cap, another the fixed focus yellow/green/red beam mode. One you have a lock and use the capacitive little button, and finally, there is an inward focused beam pair where the red and green meet to focus their power together. All these modes can be either red, green or Red+Green=Yellow colored. And this is available is RG:Y mode as well as Red+Blue=Purple (Magenta). Furthermore, it can be had in 100mw, 200mw, and 300mw power specs, yes?
