Those shows are done by a well-known member of the laser show community, Hugo Bunk. The man had a hand in developing the internationally recognised guidelines for audience scanning. I can guarantee you that there is nothing unsafe about those or any other Laser-Image shows. The primary methods of ensuring safety while crowd scanning are software attenuation zones and scan-fail circuits.
The attenuation zones are areas of the projection zone in which the power is dialed back to safe levels. Whenever the scanned beam enters an attenuation zone, it is dimmed. Measurements are taken at various points in the projection zone prior to the show to make sure that the beams are being dimmed enough to be safe.
The scan-fail circuitry is connected to the scanning system in each projector. If the scanning system stops unexpectedly, resulting in a static (motionless) beam, the laser output is killed.
I would be surprised to find that any of those lasers are over 5W.
