Building a case for homemade laserpointer

Hello,

I am attempting to build a 400mw red Laser from a DVD Writer and have got the circuit building done, my Module is being shipped right now and I need a case. I have searched the internet for Ideas, but they all use flashlights, but i am using a LM317 constant power source on a piece of stripboard, so its probably not gonna fit in there. thanks for answers

There are plenty builds on the site in plastic project boxes and altoid tins. Use the search bar and search "Altoid" or "project box".

I like building out of aluminum plate, you can park your car on it and it will still work in most cases. Plus it's one big heatsink.

@OP my first build was in a Sega Genesis Madden 94 box. I also made a laser out of the box a laser came in (meta as fudge). You can search the bay (how the cool kids are saying it) for laser heatsinks. Or get a good ol fashion curtain rod holder with a 12mm ID, or anything with a 12mm ID, preferably made of metal.

Though it has been a while, I used to get the mx900 hosts from DTR. He never had them advertisd, and I believe he inherited a bunch from his brother when he went out of business.
They do make great hosts !!!
