Back when DX was still shipping to the USA without any trouble, I bought one that looked just like this one. The casing was solid brass, which made the whole casing an EXCELLENT heat-sink, & I never had any trouble with it getting hot. It was rated @ 30mW's, but according to my LASERBEE I, it was putting out 78mW's. This leads me to believe that it's like RANDOMLUGIA said, due to manufacturing inconsistencies, you won't know EXACTLY what the out-put is until you put it on an LPM upon arrival. Here's a tip on cleaning the lens on those lasers that works pretty good. As you know, the lens is somewhat recessed, making it difficult to reach with a cleaning cloth. I cleaned mine with a "LENS PEN MINI" which did a great job. Prior to me buying the LENS PEN though, I took a Q-TIPS, pulled off all the cotton on one end, which left me with a blue, hollow, tube. Then I cut a small section off of a MICRO-FIBER cloth, & with a toothpick, I stuffed some of the cloth inside of the plastic tube, leaving enough hanging out to moisten with AR lens cleaner. I did the same thing to the other end of the Q-TIP tube, but left THAT piece of MICRO-FIBER cloth dry, for obvious reasons. I should mention here that the Q-TIPS that I used were the real CHEAP kind from the dollar store (100 for a dollar), I use the cheap ones for doing stuff like this lens cleaner, applying glue, etc. The REAL Q-TIPS don't have a hollow blue tube, they put the cotton on a solid rod of some kind of stiffer material. I hope this was of some help for ya. rob
