Best Burning laser

Ah...yes...I have a few of those $10- $20 ebay lasers...those are WEAK. I'm telling you, I may have paid $80-$120 off that chinese site, but they are far FAR more powerful. When I first saw those on ebay, for that cheap I bought 5-6 at once, and was majorly dissapointed. MAYBE, the 3 I got from china (all from lasorpointerpro) I got lucky? I'm not trying to be argumentative i'm just telling you my experiences. I use the "burn a hole" in something as a reference point of the power....I don't want you to think I'm seekind destruction of anything..be clear I am NOT.
These Chinese ones are strong as hell, I treat these as I would a loaded pistol, They are either in my safe, or locked in tool box in my trunk. So that being said, can you show me a lasor on eBay or any other site you deem quality that sell ones that powerful ?

Sorry to babble on...I just found a conversation between myself an the guy here who builds them here locally....The 3000mw I got off of the Chinese site....HE too was saying they misrepresent their specs...he has equipment that he can measure the output, this was back in 2012...the 3000mw was actually 2700mw. Agreed, that is NOT 3000 but ist a far cry from 500mw. Hed bought a few from there too and was angry they were only putting out 80 - 90% of advertised. ME? I'm totally ok with that...if they are tooting 6000mw and its only 5000 ? I'm all good.

I'm by far no expert, but isne a 650nm a red lasor? I've never even heard of those being strong enough to generate heat. (red). I have a firend that builds them. His exact words are "The lower or higher the wavelength the more heat (or burning ability) it will generate at any given power. I have a 200mw 405nm laser that burned better than a 1,000mw 445 mm. " What that tells me is all things equal...if I had a 3000mw 405nm, this would be much more powerful than a 3000mw 450nm.....from what he said. From what you are saying....the violet 405 is no stronger than a red/marron 650nm?

as I said, I'm no expert, I'm looking at buying another (I have 5) before they get harder to buy. below are the two I'm debating over.
5000mw class4

10,000mw class 3
https://www.laserpointerpro.com/100...r-pointer-with-bracket-case-black-p-4035.html

I'm aware,,,,Its say they are in New Jersey, but we all know its china, and thres now way its a reall 5000 or 10000mw...I'm aware. 3 of the 5 I have are from this company, the price is good, and the lasers are rugid, they've lasted years. I have a supposed 2000mw and 6000mw...(not sure the nm) and they are both real beasts.
Go to ebay and look up a 301, 303 405nm laser and you will find the EXACT same laser for around $5 as your 2nd Laserpointerpro link..
$10 with a cheap battery and charger. Maby 150mw tops. A 405nm laser is max 800mw for the best diode which I assure you this unit does not have..
Laserpointerpro uses diodes pulled from very highly run projectors and very cheap drivers and parts in general.
Rattling around in the trunk of your car does not mean a good laser.
I have no idea why your pushing this Laserpointerpro so hard but does make me very curious??
There is a very highly regarded private builder here that for $150 can probably set you up with a nice 2W to 3W blue laser made with top notch brand new high quality parts..:)

The NUBM44 450 nm blue laser diode is probably the most bang for the buck you can get for quick burning. Having something made custom with one of those using a pair of cylinder lenses to correct the beam shape makes this diode burn far better than without it, but I'd also use a much larger collimation lens than are normally used on our pointers with the ability to focus to a point however many feet away you are wanting. You will need some optical engineering to figure this out, I think, or maybe just ask RedCowboy how his NUBM44 lasers are doing for distance burning and what lenses he recommends.

I'm not pushing any direction I'm staying my experiences. 1) those ones on eBay I have are very weak, you just said 150mw? It 800 max ?
Ok I won't disagree . However mine from China was meaured at 2.7 watt. Is that accurate? I don't know, the guys built many had a lot of equipment it was a 3 watt, and meaured 2.7
It also will start a fire on my wood dresser from across the room... The ones I have off eBay? Won't come near that. For those prices I will buy 2-4 off eBay no doubt, so are you telling me they will rank with the Chinese one I have that can start a fire from 15 feet? I use the fire as the reference to it's power ... The numbes mean nothing... I'm not trying to be combative but I bet you those ones off eBay won't come near laser pointer pro. IF they do? I'll be back here saying I was wrong as Schmitt! I'd be happy to never use laswepointpro ever again , but at this point the proofs in the pudding their lasers I have are beasts

Yes the ebay China ones can and will do close to 3W's. If you want to go that route why not try a Thor brand which you can get for less than $100. They have the "potential" to last..
You will come to regret buying from Laserpointerpro some point down the line when you see a similar laser for way cheaper..
No the 800mw 405 laser use a Bdr -209 diode, which I very much doubt the 301 have..
Go to DTR's link and take a look at his diodes. He is wealth of info and probably supply's 1/2 of the forum with them.
He individually test's batches of each diode he sells and tell's us their powers and limits and likes and dislikes. Just looking at his store you will double your knowledge;):)
He also sells complete ready to go diode's in a module with the drivers all set..
Member "Lifetime17" sell some plug and play hosts that all you need to do is connect the 2 wires and slide the module from Dtr. in and your done, and have a working laser. Lifetime17 can also set you up with a complete working laser, much cheaper than you might think..

Take a look at this..

So far the Chinese (laserpointerpro.com) ones have lasted 4+ years, been used a good bit and banged around .. still working fine. 3 lasers ... Paid $85-$150.
What more quality am I missing? I'm not trying to be argumentative but I have several of the $20 eBay laser... And they pale to the laserpointerpro I have. I'm not promoting anything other than which ones I have which are more powerful and simply stating where I got them.
Again I'm not promoting them, jus stating my experiences, and again the "start a fire from across the room" is merlly a reference point of it's power, not some quality I'm looking to have.
Bear with me I'm not familiar with the brand/achronyms...what is a Thor and DTR? and where do I get one?

I know you guys are going to hate this.....but, in excitement...i go to these suggested sites. All I see is, some of the exact hardware I got off of laser pointerpro.com....only its 30-50% more money than laser pointerpro.com. Granted, they don't say "normally $4000 you save 99 percent". They are more specific about the wattage, they say 1.7w instead of rounding to "2". Now these may well indeed be more powerful...I don't know. Again, what I DO know is, for less money laser pointerpro.com have lasers that are powerful as @#$%! . So,,,I keep trying, I goto ebay where you are saying "EXACT same laser for around $5 ". and, they are cheap....but 5 milliwatts? thats NOT the same as what I have. I've browsed through QUITE a few and here are my findings:
1) what I have, laserpointerpro.comavg $99, a durable, 2700mW, blue/violet, that will burn the wall from accross the room
From a company, that's obviously BSing about the original $4000 price reduced to $99, and claiming a 3 watt device thats actually 2.7watts
(hmm? they flower it up a bit...ok ...alot. It may not have the latest top of the line diode... bottom line for 100 bucks I have a hell of a laser)
2) The various site suggested avg $150 - $300 and a stated 2.7w likely more accurate as to what the lasers power is.
(What I AM seeing here, is the "EXACT same laser for around 50%- 300+% more......not $5"
3) ebay, NICE cheap prices and a wattage so low, its not even in the same class as the above two.....NOT seeing "EXACT same laser for around $5" at all.
Again, I am not trying to be combative, argumentative or troll this site. I'm totally open to the possibility that I'm really missing something ....unless someone can copy paste an exact link to something showing me otherwise......The facts "as I've seen them" Strongly back" #1 above.
1) what I have, laserpointerpro.com above, For less money, I'm getting all the benifits of #2, and #3 is so bad its not even in the game.

I have one of the Thor host lasers. Mine came from laser pointer stores. I got it to review awhile back and mine is a fairly good laser pointer that takes two 26650 batteries and has two power settings. I believe they sell these in blue for under $100. That may be what Lifetime17 was talking about.

So? for this Thor host laser? I find:
the 3 watt is $109....($10 more than laserpointerpro.com ) and from what I'm seeing,,,power wise...same as what I have, and its kind of bulky.
I havn't even brought up the 6 watt, I bought for $165 (yes...laserpointerpro.com), this one is really big. about 14" long, 2" diameter. Is it a real 6 watt? I don't know, but its ungodly strong.
Sorry guys....I still gotta say, laserpointerpro.com, I'm NOT seeing reasons to stray away. Someone.......send me a link that shuts this thought down, I'll be making a buy. I have to ask, all this animosity towards laserpointerpro.com....other than me, has anyone actually purchased from there and have in hand reasons why its so terrible ?

Laser pointer pro charges FAR more for the same thing than anyone else with very few exceptions that's what is wrong with them, a rip off. Seems this Thor H 2 isn't very far out of line though, that is the one exception I've seen where they only charge 20% more for that than other sellers on ebay, instead of double to 8 times more.

If you read my experiences above, I'm finding Laser pointer pro charges a good bit LESS for the same, and the ones on eBay that are FAR less $$, are junk. Again........give me a direct link..that proves otherwise. And again..other than me, has anyone actually purchased from there and have in hand reasons why its so terrible ?

Don't agree.? with? what? Maybe "junk" is harsh for the ebay lasers...for the price they are great.. they are no where near as powerful as the 1, 2, 3 or 6 watt I have from laserpointerpro.com, hands down. Given the $5 to $30 I saw on eBay, the specs alone were at best 20% not to mention I have several of them.....its not even debatable, they are weak. The direction I was given to search for, that was not on eBay...its mathematics....they were $150-$300...I paid about $85 for the 1w and bout $165 for the 6w...you can not agree or disagree....its math....it simply......"is".
And again I ask . ..other than me, has anyone actually purchased from lawerpointerpro and have one in hand to experience any reasons why its so terrible ?
and yet again I ask....give me a direct link..that proves otherwise, and not for the "proof" ...I want to buy it!

All I need to do is scan down their offerings, and having known what the normal prices are for the same thing.
